I'm not talking about what type of condom you use

But I was wondering what people on here do to ensure their safety when meeting?

Personally, even as a bloke, I have a trusted friend who always know where and when my meets are. And I text a codeword to them after to let them know I'm safe.

Also, I never accept a drink when I am in someone elses house. This is obviously to ensure I don't get spiked with anything. If we meet in a pub then I will always get my own drink and never leave it unattended.

Does anyone else have any other safety tips to share?

after one particularly distressing experience we never stay over night, one of us always remains completely alcohol free and we always use our own transport.

change the way you vet potential meets, ask the right questions all before you even consider meeting.

I do relax and enjoy myself but I've had a couple of bad experiences in the past that has just made me take certain precautions

Personally I think these are sensible things to do, at least until you know the people you are playing with. As tempting as it is , I never play on a first meet especially if I'm by myself.

We were at a bar. This couple was very old. I got my wife to a safe place and contacted the party organizer. I wasn’t able to give out my own justice on the couple. They did get away when they saw me. We never saw them again. No sex was involved, but this couple tried something as the drug took effect on my wife. I wasn’t roofied and didn’t let anything go further. It has not happened again. Just something to be aware of.

After a bad experience on a social meet I’m very cautious.

I won’t meet without chatting on the phone first (people trip themselves up much quicker chatting than writing and re-writing a message)

I meet somewhere public, but not rammed busy

If drinks are being had its somewhere with table service or where I can see the bar for their turn. I also never go back/have a new to a drink after I’ve been to the toilet and it’s been out of my sight.

Someone always knows where I’m going and when. They also have the profile name I’m meeting.

I’m also quite open with people that I will be sending odd texts during a meet to the person who knows where I am to check in. People’s reactions to that say a lot - most folk get it. The guy who started ranting and raving about how that made him feel like he was seen as a rapist or a murderer and that was very very unfair saw me leave very quickly.

Fred and Rose West perfected a technique that worked for them for years.

I had a bad experience as a single over ten years ago, but managed to get away unscathed.

As a couple meeting another couple, we always met in a public place, to see if there was any chemistry, or whether something didn't seem right.

One couple we met, we clicked with right away, we shared the same interest, DP and DVP, and that arrangement went on for a couple of years.

Both couples agreed to be tested regularly and bareback DVP became the norm, with the other fem using a strapon.

Tread cautiously, and if everyone is on the same page, for what they want, what could be better!

I've definitely learnt from previous mistakes.

I trust my gut feeling.

I always have a social first, in a public place.

I don't drink much anyway but I also don't leave my drink unattended.

I always one person at least knows exactly where I am.

I’ve learned to trust my gut feeling! It’s absolutely right. Always follow your gut. I will only meet people who, are well verified by meeting in person, now. It’s just not worth the risk. I tell people if they want to meet I will screenshot their face pics & profiles and send to a neighbour and a friend. If they’re not happy about that, then we won’t meet.

If you get the ick feeling, ask them to leave! Take care xx

Always book my own hotel room (or make sure it’s in my name) and if I’m at a guys house, I check in with a friend fairly regularly and stay sober to leave it needed. I always travel so always able to drive and not wait around for public transport.

And always make sure I’ve face timed prior to a meet so I know they are who they say they are and you click (I don’t do socials so the research part is essential!)

Back in the 90's,went to a meet after meeting at a pub. He took me back to his place for what I thought 1 on 1 fun and some snacks. He seemed a nice enough fella.

He got me d*unk, I woke in the bedroom being fucked senseless by 3 guys and him.

2002 I get locked in a small unit on a trading estate buy a guy. We were supposed to be going to hotel but he thought it was a better idea to lock me up for two hours and come back later and fuck me violently for half an hour before droping me off at a train station.

All my fab meets have been great. I club first then private meet, always let a friend know where I am too.

I usually message a trusted friend, and put my live location on whatsapp as you can share it for 8 hours, so at least someone will have an idea of where I am.

There some really harrowing and truly terrible things people have suffered on here. I’m mortified and can only say my heart goes out to you all. I always let someone know where I am but after reading this thread I’m definitely going to consider some of the other precautions people use. Hope everyone stays safe
