Height dynamics when it comes to meets

I'm not the tallest man nor the smallest and can't say height really bothers me too much. I know for some it is an issue and would love to know what people think of it? I understand that in dom/sub meets it makes sense for the sub to want a larger dom than themselves, are there other scenarios where its key to people? Where does it fall on your checklist?
