Do the majority on here prefer a simple "Hey, howre you?" Or a lengthy intro about yourself and what you like?

I'm a newbie to the scene I'll admit, struggling to get responses, all advice is welcome x

I would have thought a simple " Hey how are you?" or variations of it were guaranteed to get you ignored and probably blocked.

I prefer more than just one line messages.

They are just hard work, like pulling hens teeth to get some sort of idea of the person contacting me.

If they can't be bothered to string a decent message together then why should they get a decent reply from me?

Lack of content tells me to scroll on.

Irrespective of how you opened up, I'd wonder are you a single guy or a couple?

Blimey, a thread about opening messages.

Not seen one of these before

Sorry OP, but these are becomming a daily occurance.

Might be a good idea to search the forum for 'first message' and 'opening message' and see what responses others have had to this question

I don't go for one liners as that just seems ride and probably guaranteed to be ignored. I also write each message individually and never copy and paste a generic message, I read a profile to make sure we have something in common and we have something to offer each other. No point in just randomly messaging every one, only interesting or potentially interested people. I don't make my first message huge though....one paragraph normally as no point in boring someone straight off ( I can do that later ) and also it takes time to write what I think is an interesting message and as so many messages are sent to ladies and couples there is the danger of the mass delete so I tend to focus on later messages if I get a reply

If we get a message that is less than 5 syllables it gets ignored or deleted.

A medium length message is best. Show you've read someone's profile and you have similar interests.
