what puts you off someones profile? For me i switch off when its A4 length with a massive list of what they wont do or what criteria i would need to have to qualify, rather than "selling" themslves. Obviously a few bits and peices detailing some guidelines is always useful to save everyones time.

if a profile is full of do's and dont's it doesnt leave much to talk about, i dont understand why people need A4 profiles, the fun is in the getting to know and the banter you can have, some peoples profiles are that full of donts (2 A4 lengths) i aint a clue what the feck they are doing here

Too short or too long, its about striking a balance. Its all the no's that puts me off or you'll need to do backward jumps through hoops just for us to even warrant a glance in your direction.

I hate those profiles that just say something like "here to have fun" or "young horny couple looking for a good time" Isn't everyone?

I also hate bad grammar, spelling and bad construction of sentences where you have to read them 3 or 4 times for them to make sense.

In our view your profile is a reflection of what you're like in person.

I like yours. Your rules are very basic and everyone should need to know where they stand from the get go so there are no misconceptions. Also, we like that you're very jokey in your descriptions - it says to me you're like that in person.

It's not too long and not too short.

I think if the status is negative, like 'this site is full of fakes and timewasters' I tend not to read on, as its clear that, if I message them, they will be in a bad mood. If the status is OK but the profile starts off with 'TIMEWASTERS GO ELSEWHERE!!' then that would put me off too. I understand the sentiment but really, when has that ever stopped a timewaster from messaging?

I like chatty profiles with a few ideas of what the person is looking for. I hope mine is that but I haven't updated it for ages!

Definately!!!

And it's not just the profiles!

Forum posts and status updates sway my decisions as much as the profiles themselves.

A couple more of my pet hates are:

Couples that only show pics of the females.

Fuzzy, badly thought out - and lets face it - downright crap photos in profiles. It's not hard to put some thought in and if you don't have anything other than your phone or feel an extra pair of hands would come in, well, handy - there's plenty of good 'snappers' on site willing to help! (and that wasn't me touting for business - honest! Lol)

Profiles that state only one half of a couple makes the decisions. Not good!

Oh - and couples that GET ALL SHOUTY in capitals about their preferences. Unnecessary!!

But hey - that's just my thoughts!

the author would have to be incredibly witty to make me read that much

Pathetic one line profiles, says feck about them to me, other than lazy and unimaginative

Married... nowt against them, it's just nigh-on impossible to make a solid arrangement

No photos or just cock-shots, I'm much too apathetic to be bothered asking.. plus if I don't fancy them it's just a tad embarrassing saying so after making the first contact lol!

I used to have an even longer profile than the 1 I've got now Haha, some people slate me for using txt spk but I suppose I just use it for speed, doesn't mean I'm an illiterate idiot as someone took the time to tell me the other day! Xx

Lots of things can put us off, but a few of the main ones are:

Profiles that are full of bitching and SHOUTY comments.

Those that only contain a couple of lines as how can you tell what they might be like?

Those with blurry or tiny thumbnail size pics.

I really am a grumpy fucker though and Mrs JFL rarely comes on here other than to vet and choose the folks we meet...leaves all the day to day maintenance to me !

It really frustrates me when I first state the type of guys I do not want to meet, and that don't message me if you just want to cam or meet tonight. Yup, I get a LOT of messages from types I said don't interest me asking to cam or meet tonight, etc.

SO annoying, clearly these guys don't even bother to read a profile, probably just a copy and paste message to as many peeps as possible in the hope of hooking up with someone.

Then you reply politely, sorry not interest, or not my type, etc... then the replies, what is you type?, why aren't you interested?.. Arrgghhhhhh

I kind of like the variety of profiles in here. The one liners or 'fill this in laters' I avoid! But on the whole I do like reading them. Personally I think mine is probably a bit shouty but I'm not sure how many people read them anyway!

I always read a womans profile. It's all part of the excitement. If someone doesn't have a decent profile I wouldn't think of sending a message.
