"On first contact or reading a profile does poor spelling, punctuation, grammar and the use of text speak have an effect on future correspondence? I am asking for a friend who works for the grammar police." Kinda, like if dey b uzin txt talk and mojis for wurds I tend to ignore the messages. But there's always that 1 that you see the most stunning body with all you want, then they hit you with "wuu2" and I say "Nm U?"

"Man, I've turned down so many ladies for using "innit" in casual conversation. I even turned down anal from a supermodel when she texted "wan u in me az". True story." Actually anal from a supermodel implies a degree of pegging?

It comes across as if very little effort has gone into the message and presumably, very little effort will be made in the bedroom.

"In fairness yes it does put us off. You have to make room for autocorrect but yes, poor grammar is a turn off. This won’t go down well, but poor grammar gives us the perception (may be incorrect) of poor intellect, which in turn means a lower social class of person. Will most likely get a lot of hate for that but it’s our perception. In fairness though. It’s not an incorrectly placed comma or apostrophes. More really bad spelling. " Poor intellect = lower social class? I've met some high class people in life who have poor intellect.

"On first contact or reading a profile does poor spelling, punctuation, grammar and the use of text speak have an effect on future correspondence? I am asking for a friend who works for the grammar police." It’s not just the grammar, it’s also the content and how someone conducts themselves. We all have our likes and dislikes. For me a mentally stimulating connection with the person I play with is very important. I can’t get to know someone through streams of random letters and if that’s how they write they probably converse in a similar way. It’s not going to work for me unfortunately. I’m not perfect in the aspect myself but I try my best to be clear and articulate where possible.

"Grammar. The difference between "You know your shit" and "You know you're shit." Gbat" Or being discreet or being discrete. Nevertheless clear and concise written prose is an aphrodisiac............ I mean post coital recital of sonnet 116 by The Great Bard whilst sipping red wine and eating chocolate (Galaxy) is pure heaven?

"To me, language is a minefield of potential misinterpretation, the more it is bastardised, the more misinterpretation. Take a simple sentence. “Let’s eat Grandma”. Against, “let’s eat, Grandma”. I am dyslexic, however I am aware that badly written communication is not helping society. Or getting a rite good shag on ear." I would say "Grandma, shall we eat?" "It doesn’t bother us at all, as someone who struggles massively messaging due to my dyslexia, we understand not everyone’s perfect! "Good grammar makes things a lot easier to read, which I believe was it's purpose." "its", I believe. Correct grammar avoids ambiguity, e.g. "Have you eaten grandma?", versus "Have you eaten, grandma?"
