I’m not posting this because I am disillusioned or frustrated but to help those that are:

I’ve sent 5 admittedly brief but tailored messages this evening, inc. face pics - to couples and a single female that interest me, all ‘active’ at the time.

So far:

1 x Not Read / 4 x Read

3 x Views of my Profile

0 x Replies

Disappointing (one particularly) but not unusual. All I’m saying is it is Tom Jones (not unusual) even when you do the right things - Don’t give up (but I wish one would reply, of course!)

Perhaps they just aren't interested? Maybe they haven't replied because single men in the past have got abusive when rejected.

I don't believe you'd get nasty for one minute, but as a single guy you have to just be very thick skinned.

Not getting replies isn't the end of the world.

Having a look at your profile you are (quite rightly so) very specific in who you are looking for. You also are against women who squirt and I think lots do nowadays from what I read and experience so that cuts some ladies out. X

If they are not attracted to you or if you’re not who they are looking for they are not going to reply...

A single guy can craft the most wonderful, personalised message but if he doesn’t appeal to the recipient... it’ll be a no, a delete or a no reply.

If I have time, and if the person has made an impression with their message, but they are not what I am looking for, I tell them I am hally to chat but would not meet them in person. But usually ai just delete/not reply. That means “no thank you” in Fabworld...

I’m not whining - I offered the post as advice to others not a whine on my behalf. I thought that was very clear in the words I used? It was intended as a “don’t give up” message of support - not sure how that could have been misconstrued?

The thing is the "right things" to do are a good guideline but don't come with a guarantee.

Whilst the number imbalance plays a part to an extent, even that isn't prohibitive to a lot of guys.

What it actually comes down to is simple logic that a lot of guys seem to lose sight of, which applies in the real world, but applies just as equally here - if you walk down the street, you're probably attracted to maybe 1 in 10 people you pass (or 10%), of that 10%, the reverse logic is that 1 in 10 will be attracted to you - so about 0.1% overall...and when you frame it like that in a Fab context it makes a great deal of sense why you don't get interest from everyone you contact

You have also got to take into account there is a pandemic on at the moment and some people are unwilling to meet anyone right now, So that will make it doubly harder for single males right now.

I can’t comment on what might put people off as you’ve already blocked me but remember many of us look in stealth mode so you’d never know.

We often look at a profile to see who’s messaging without ever opening the message and if we don’t see anything we like it’s so much easier just to delete without even opening it.

Also women might be put off if you're just in the area, rather than local to them.

It puts me off meeting anyone who's just in town, plus as someone else said, many are still not interested in meets at the moment.

Clubs and socials can be a better bet
