Why do people block. I understand if you don't turn up without some kind of message. Arranged 8 meets since restrictions lifted and had 6 no shows and only 1 sent message apologising. Now been chatting to a guy today, seemed to be going well but he has blocked us. Don't understand why.

Honestly no shows are to be expected, and people can block for many reasons. Like one them not being interested anymore

I’d say because he got all the pics he needed to “finish the job at hand” but you have enough great ones, including face pics for that so would be at a total loss sorry can’t help

We get malicious messages and then they block so that we can't respond. The online equivalent of hit and run away...very brave.

Usually if we politely decline and they keep on messaging and messaging and messaging thinking we’re going to change our minds.

I tend to block people too local too me. Sounds odd but want to be discreet and don't want to be bumping into someone when buying my bread from the bakery or worse where I work.

More than half those in my block list are there to keep my local updates tidy and relevant. We have nothing in common at all so it seems pointless.

Others are blocked for forum comments and attitudes.

To be honest I struggle with the idea that some people have numerous no shows.

It can happen to everyone but if the vast majority of arranged meets aren't turning up then it's time to have a closer look at who you are chatting to and the common denominator and change your vetting approach.

When reality dawns, most are not willing to go through with meet. Blocking is a firm way of moving on and having no need to explain yourself.

I've been blocked a couple of times immediately after someone has viewed my profile, this could be that they don't want me pestering them "something I never do" but I understand some might or could it be that they recognised you and don't want you looking back at them and recognising them? I don't get that many messages but did block someone once who started asking questions about my status which I say I am happy to do but only to anyone who may be interested in me not to someone who wants to talk to me like a kid and try to berate me so I suggested her time might be better spent looking for people who match her requirements on here rather than being the witchfinder general and blocked her.
