I see them all the time on the local status whatsit. Like you I wonder if anything ever comes of them, particularly when it's a relatively new bloke.

The "husband home alone" ones are another sub-set that I suspect don't product gold.

I guess it depends on who is asking and how. I’ve met people in the past who put out a very short notice meet. But I would never just message someone asking to meet up now

No I think I can honestly say I don’t think it gets them anywhere. Saw one once something along the lines of driving suchaplace got 30mins spare and other 2 workmen in a van who’s game!!

Well yes I respond because firstly I'm not gay or bi but still get asked fancy a discreet meet now so my block keeps increasing must be close to the max so heads up we need possibly a new block target

and a lovely reward for who reaches first

Well, this is fab. A £5 a month swinging site. You get what you pay for i guess. I'm bombarded by "straight" (yeah right!) Men all the time. Wether they get lucky or just end up with each other, i do not know but i do find it funny when people put, "no bi men!" on their profile. From my experience 2/3 of the men on here are bi, just not honest about it. There are a lot of desperate men on here.

I see the occasional status declaring that someone is free and looking there and then which are shortly followed by a new verification so I guess this method works for some. As others have said it is probably largely dependent on who is doing the asking though.
