When you look at someone profile.. how far back does the latest picture they send you have to be for you to question if they still look like that??

As a ex Personal Trainer i know how quick a body can change for both positive and negative within a short period of time.

But id like to think my face still looks the same months later lol.

For face photos recent we are talking in the last 6 months. Ours are recent as it would be obvious if we didn't as Mrs T has recently changed her hair colour.

Should we be getting rid of older pictures?

So many guys (I only look at single male profiles ) are 4 years 5 or even older pictures and I just ignore those profiles

I often get sent pics and they say it’s pre covid because of lockdowns they don’t look like that anymore but it’s a better picture than one they could take today so I’m not sure why they send it. As I still don’t know what they look ike at the moment which is what I wanted to know.

I do have really old pictures on my profile but I tend to add new ones every few weeks when I’m looking to meet.

Old pics are pretty pointless coz when you meet somebody the difference can be profound enough to come as a shock and kill the meet dead in the water

Hasn't happened to me, but I know a couple of people who have told me about meeting people who they thought were young and buff, only to discover they were actually much older and really let themselves go.

My photos are mostly less than a year old, some are this years.

I do wonder when I look at some photos on some profiles if the person actually looks like the photo... difficult to believe some profiles.

We've pictures of Niki from when we lived in Spain on our profile, taken in

2016. The latest one was from the warm spell a couple of weeks ago, I can't see any discernable difference

My pics on profile are relatively old but i have more recent pics in my privates when am asked. Dont understand women who send you pics from like 2017 tho like am pretty sure you have changed since then either for the better or worst

Dates on pics aren't really an issue for me as I don't meet very often so whatever people want to portray themselves as doesn't really come into it.

It does smack of laziness though when to see a profile with old pics and a bio that says something along the lines of I'm a 43 year old woman which she possibly was when she created the profile 5 or 6 years ago but has never taken the time to update the bio text over the years.

Strange also that there have been a few threads recently with people claiming to be newbies and asking for advice but their pics are from 2015?

Not everyone on here is narcissistic enough to keep updating their pictures. More important “wrongs” with the site eg fake profiles to start dictating that all pictures should be no less than 6 months old !!!!!

I hear you but don't think it's really narcissistic to update your photos, part of this site is some exhibitionism is it not and a lot of it is for the benefit of accuracy of what we potray, no?

If you change considerably in six months, then yes it would be fair to change your photos, but a lot of us don't, so what's the point?

It's called making an effort and keeping your profile fresh and updated and interesting

If it's more than a year old we're a bit suspicious. The date published on fab is by no means the same as the date they were taken though.

We've got pictures on here genuinely from 2012 and pictures genuinely from yesterday. I have noticed that I'm still wearing the dress from the 2012 picture in some much more recent ones

If you find someone's profile lazy, old and disinteresting, just move on to someone else's that you do find interesting - whingeing about it isn't going to change anything.

I'm not whinging. I couldn't care less what others put in their profile. I was talking about my own

Calderdale innit

Fairly recent, especially the face pic, I've changed over the years and expect most of us have.

I do wonder when I see profiles with pics 8 and 9 years old only, there's a bloke on my updates who has been on and off using the same face pic for about 7 years.

I think no more than 6 months old, with the majority using smart phones theres not really an excuse to not take one when asked for one really.

Had a guy cancel a date as I called out his 10 yr old face pic and he didn’t want to share an up to date one
