How to spot a dodgy profile?

Hi all, we’ve been on here a little while now and for the most part it’s ok, but what are the best ways to spot a faker/time waster? We are honest with the people we talk too but I get the feeling lots aren’t (I know, I know it’s kinda obvious), so what are you’re sure fire tips??

Been members for a while and have not even been photo verified is a bit of a red flag for me.

As a guy, I see a lot of female profile just advertising their insta or snap profiles too, another red flag - yes they may be real people, but chances are they are here for followers, not meets.

Unverified Couples and Single Females that aren't new and don't have any pictures are the obvious signs.

Google 'reverse search image' ..you have to upload an image you want to search then up pops all the results of where you will find that image.

If you're using a PC, you can just copy the link address of the photo. Dont know about mobile.

Rule of thumb on Fab should be, always assume you are getting catfished.

If an account has zero verifications...assume it's fake.

If an account has only photo verification....assume it's fake (photos can be faked).

If an account has only one other type of verification, assume it's fake.

If an account has only one verification of each type, assume (or multiple veris from just one profile) it's fake.

IF an account hasnt been verified in several years, assume it's fake.

Unless it's a active profile with regular-ish meets (lockdown period withstanding) OR we saw those people at a social event, We always assume it's fake till we are 100% sure it's not. One of the few ways to do that is reverse image searching photos so it's a good trick to learn about and use.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who spend their time pissing others around because they're sad individuals. There's also a lot of chancers who think you'll shag them just because you turned up to a meet and they're not what they claimed they where.

Get the Tineye extension for your browser, then when you right click an image you can search it on Google. And yes, it's very effective at finding stolen pictures on the internet.

I'm sure those that use them know this, but I guess they gamble that people won't search them (fake women profiles definitely gamble because men are idiots )

How depends on whether you're on a PC/laptop, an Android phone or an Apple phone.

Checking images aside, we find chatting is the best way. We're not in a hurry to meet anyone so just let things take their time and see what happens as we do in real life. Time wasters who just want to talk dirty and wank and fakes reveal themselves quite quickly.

We'd definitely want to see them on camera (not faces) before agreeing to meet, especially if we were looking for couples.

Those who are prepared to agree short notice meetings with people they've only exchanged a few messages with are always going to be vulnerable to being caught out.

I believe something as simple as flipping images defeats the reverse search process so passing that test is not a guarantee that an image hasn't been stolen. It's still worth checking but we wouldn't rely on the results.

If a profile isn't even photo verified I steer clear. Also a huge list of what they like, as if they have just ticked every box along with age range 18-99 and a profile text that just says will fill this in later are all red flags to me. The age range one on its own is not a red flag to me though if the rest looks right

Well retorted.

I was thinking to myself that the quoted poster was a bit heavy with the assumptions.

Couples are lucky to get so much interest that they can afford to throw away good leads! (TIC, before anyone bothers with a lengthy reply)

Google Lens isn't great. But on Android you can long press and download the image. Then from your gallery you might have the option to share with "Google image search", or just go to TinEye and upload it.

Not sure if I dodged a bullet but chatting to a couple (mostly the man, talking up how insatiable his female partner is), I request a word with her and it's signed off as her, yet strangely she uses precisely the same particular figure of speech and tone of voice (or text) as he does.

As cute/hot/sexy as their pics looked, I just got a massive fuck no way vibe from it. And recognise that yeah they may be so bonded that they talk alike, but there was something so aggressively up for it about "their" collective approach that my twitchies twitched.

I know that not everyone bothers to photo verify, but the time wasters I've come across haven't photo verified.

Before there's a barrage of responses, I appreciate that not being photo verified doesn't mean you're fake, but I do think it's ONE of the signs.
