I had a thread a short while ago involving “criteria” some people here have that I find to be racist. In my remarks, I mentioned that it was racist because some deem black people as undesirable or dangerous, without stating the same about Chavs and the like. Seems there’s a good opportunity to expand upon that discussion and into the wider issue.

Creepy encounters happen because some people have terrible criteria for selection. It doesn’t have to be yourself or your partner doing the selecting either.

An example in regards to dogging: You share a location with someone on the forums, because they fit your physical criteria. That person then goes on to share that information with other people whom you don’t find appealing and they show up or tail you after leaving. This entire situation happened because you made your selection based on how that person looked, without regard to having a personality based criteria or screening them.

I’ve actually turned down meetings, because people just reached out to me based on finding me physically attractive. If that’s your criteria, I believe you’ll run into these kinds of issues.

I initiate contact, or respond, to people I find attractive... I am pretty good at gauging people whom I am attracted to mentally, or not, very quickly... If I am not, then we are done... I also find some things off putting, physically, even if I am attracted to them too so... I think my criteria is fine, but thanks

People can disagree with my reasoning for why it happens, sure. But some evaluation needs to happen or at least be in the back of peoples minds, considering the 90 reply thread rn about terrible experiences.

People have the right to put any criteria they so wish if they requested a smurph and someone wanted to paint themselves blue that's between them isn't it?? I don't see what the issue is people have their own preferences that's their perogative isn't it??

Just let people choose their own criteria. If they don't want to meet a certain demographic that's their freedom of choice. My criteria is happy, easy going people. Ignore the negativity and just have fun. That's what it's about.
