What's the point? Does anyone ever use them or more importantly respond to them?

Rarely. I ask people no message and not wink on my profile, so those that still do clearly haven't read it and get deleted. I occasionally wink back to women and couples xx

Yup I often use them and have also received winks, it's a quick way to show a little interest on someone without sending a message that may well just get swallowed up in the sea of mail that I know a lot of women and couples often receive and if I get a wink back then I will message and start a conversation with them.

They do work for us personally, can break the ice at times . If we receive a wink of interest and we like the look of said person(s) then we’ll send a message back and take it from there

"What's the point? Does anyone ever use them or more importantly respond to them?"

I use them to gauge if there is an attraction from the other party so if I get a wink back I know to message rather than after reading the profile, constructing a message, sending a face pic that it may get lost in the plethora of other messages, not get read or I just won’t be there type

So I think winks are important.

Personally for me, if i get a wink or send a wink and get one back then there is obviously attraction there, rather than sending a message and hoping for the best!

I might occasionally send one especially to friends but very rare, I don't respond to them so pointless for me personally.

I just bulk delete them. X

It's an ice breaker and saves time typing out a message to someone who might not be interested.

That’s a brilliant explanation. Thank you. I would usually bulk delete mine, and initially thought winks were just a little lazy, but I understand the point of them a little better now. . I’ll pay more attention in the future!!

I've always found they are from ppl I state I'm not looking for, so outside of age range, not local etc, so I don't look anymore

I've rarely had any response from a wink.

If I receive one, I'll generally message back only to be ignored so now I'm pretty much of the opinion that there's little point to them.

I'll stick to messages from now on

I like a wink. It’s a nice opening shot and if nothing else a measure of appreciation.

I use them as a means to not bug someone, as I’m sure a lot of ladies on here get bombarded by immense amounts of bullshit from others, so a brief wink shows my interest.

If someone sees that and winks back, then messages are instigated

I just fear wasting peoples time as there are many better out there.

Personally I use winks... unless their profile says otherwise. Shows I’m interested, gives them the opportunity to have a look at my profile and if they like they can wink back.. Should they I can then follow up with a message.

We love a wink or two, and often message people who send them to use, we think it's a good way to brake the ice

I look at them sometimes and have met people off the back of a wink. Would say tho don't rely on a wink to start a conversation as like many have said they don't check them

What I like is being winked, then responding with a fairly full response and then nothing!

"What's the point? Does anyone ever use them or more importantly respond to them?"

Kinda pointless if you ask us. We pay only minor attention to them. We appreciate that a new user might be shy and we consider that but mostly we like and preffer messaging.
