I don't know if there is like a language barrier or something going on because I didn't really understand your original post meaning and I'm not really following your reply either... I would beg to differ that it is an offensive thing to say, I would hazard that any two people who are communicating so ineffectively would question what the cause of that was... Secondly when I am at work if someone asked the question do you think we should set up some kind of system to proven xyz... And in my belief there was already a system in place to prove xyz I would 100% communicate 'oh I thought we already did have that system in place, or have I miss understood and your talking about another kind of system?' so I'm not sure what you mean about fab giving me a false sence of security... You asked a question and I answered it to the best of my ability

How will a video,photo or credit card stop stupid people from joining?

To be honest, it's the stupid people who get caught out by catfish and fake profiles.

Either stupid or so desperate to meet someone they don't stop and see the warning signs.

There are also filters one can use so new profiles can't message you.

GDPR is data protection. If you give personal details to other users that's on you, not the site.

I know one or two single female accounts that are photo verified on fab but in reality it’s two young lads. Keep reporting them, they get closed down and open another, get photo verified and repeat.

How would you stop this? You can’t. You just have to look out for the signs (which are easy to see)

You asked if fab should have verification systems in place and been informed it does already have verification systems in place and a way to block any unverified profiles from contacting you if you so wish, your yet to clarify on what a 'stupid person' is to you and how you think fab should get rid of them so not much els to cover really

Doesn't change the fact you have created a thread basically slating fab for not insisting on photo verification when you yourself can't find a spair 2 minutess to get verified this way yourself... Other people's pictures have nothing to do with verified

There are, as the figures show right now, over 24000 members online That's just those awake at this late hour, but not including goodness knows how many aren't online!

They're not just in the UK but in a range of countries around the world.

That's a lot of people to potentially verify over time and would add to their operating costs, even making it non-viable unless everyone had to pay a fee.

This site may have its flaws but the verification process as it stands, suits me just fine, as it does to many others here.

I'm a bit lost with this one OP. Are you saying that photo verification and meet verifications aren't enough? What more do you want?

As others have said, you've not used photo verification for yourself and your meet verifications seem to be as part of a couple with Yang, not solo as your profile suggests?

I think the simple answer is that there's no foolproof verification system. Even meet verifications can be created using fake accounts.

Verifications are a double edged sword. A lot of people put too much credule in verifications. Nobody gives bad verifications even if they did you can hide them. People use verifications as a badge of performance - in the end mostly they are meaningless but sometime they can be starting point.

"I have all these verifications therefor I must be some super stud -fuck me - (no you were a disappointment but I'm too polite to say"

In the end they are a tool in the decision process if you want to use them. But in the end Veris don't make the person - although in some cases can be a red flag

When we were meeting we didn't care about Veris cos we are pretty good judges of people - and ourselves we did not feel the need to prove ourselves through Veris.

Ok to shut this off. Admin have said they won't be making PV compulsory for all. If you don't want to get mail from unverified people you can set your filters from the link below. You could also avoid mailing unverified people yourself and then the site would work for you how you want it to.
