Don't be a location stalker it's creepy

Seems to be a new trend adopted by single men in their personal persuit to get laid in lockdown and to be honest it's pretty creepy.

Just going to say I don't think couples or single ladies want to be location stalked by saying that you are really nearby and ready for sex in a message it's going to make the who ever is on the receiving ends skin crawl 99% of the time and will probably never get you laid?

Sent from single guys mostly and the odd few couples ones for just him play you know the type with one verification from the single male clearly a bit suspect.

Yeah you can block but it's unpleasant and it makes fab a not nice place to be on

But the block button is there to make your time better on here no?

Without looking at your profile I presume you've got single men blocked from messaging now?

I’ve had this done to me, the person said they lived near me and kept sending me messages wanting sex, wanting to do things I wasn’t comfortable in doing. Wanted to come to my house. Blocked. Came off fab for a bit, as it rattled me quite a lot and didn’t feel safe. Got over that now.

I get messages saying they are within 5 miles.. Err, no you aren't, my post code on here is 100 miles wrong! And I only switch my GPS on my phone when I'm not in my local area so people can't see me on who's near. Safety is paramount for me.

You don’t have to have the who’s near function activated if you’d prefer to keep your location private.

not a funny joke really as years ago i had this very thing happen all be it a bit different because it was a guy we planned to meet but he pulled out which was fair enough but he kept our addy and did become a stalker and was looking in our window he cause damage to my then car and knocked part of our wall down but we had camera's located indoors covering outdoors and got him on film but he also did this in his work van so the police got involved and it was sorted he was sacked and had to go home to face his wife ...so while i can he it in a funny light it does happen for real..

Assuming you have 'Who's near' switched on.

If it's no use to you, switch it off.

It's just another option for those that might choose to use it, is all.

We use the turn off feature when we know that we would easily tracked in some country side pubs or parks where we would the only Asians for miles.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I find it very creepy especially when someone uses it to be within a quarter of a mile which has happened to me before a guy actually ended up on my road ( I have since moved) he said he followed the who's near I had forgotten to turn mine off that day and as he had made the effort to find me I should at least go out and meet him the least he thought he deserved was a bj and as where I lived at the time was pretty much in the middle of no where it freaked me out. He pestered me for about a few weeks after that on different profiles.

I haven't used the who's near feature since.

It's very creepy and stalkerish when someone pulls that crap and anyone who tries it is not someone I would meet anyhow.

As far as I know, the who is near feature only shows to within a quarter of a mile?

Thats a quarter of a mile,in all directions.

Now unless you live alone, with no neighbours in a large field in the middle of nowhere,I'd say the majority of you are fairly safe from being found

Didn’t you know it now gives your postcode street name door number and telephone number. ? Well at least you would think so wouldn’t you ?

There really is some sanctimonious bullshit posted here sometimes.

Now we have people (so say Fab royalty) complaining about the site functions being used as they’re supposed to be. Take responsibility for your own experience and use the site functions to enhance it - I.e., block, location, filters - all at your disposable.

My gf and I have used it in the past when a guy failed to turn up. Nice young lad was working in the hotel on some renovations, came to our room and fucked her hard. She was happy, so it can be a useful tool!

The only creepy side of it we find is the messages that insist they’ve just seen us somewhere and ask where we’ve been or where we are.

I purposefully keep it off .. I also use a different post on fab to my real one - safety is important to me.

I always amazed that people give out their address and do meets at home - this is not something i would ever consider

The Near Me feature is there for a reason. You must be using it to find out who is near to you . Couples who are close to you will never message you , it's only single guys. If you have correct filters in place then they can't message you . Simple .

You can control your own profile , who can contact you .

We can't help stalkers, they stalk anyone wherever they are .

Sane person never stalks regardless

Cap d’Agde, France

Excellent feature, living in Cap dAgde we find it useful identifying Brits on holiday, couples and singles but as we use the filters on here only couples and TV’s can see us.

Filters and blockers are there for a reason and simple to turn on or off!

Galaxy Far Far Away

Even when someone isn't nearby there are some that really push to get as close to an exact location as they can. I told someone yesterday that I found this disturbing but apparently it's my thought process that's wrong.

We used them when abroad and found a cpl in a hotel next to us. But couldn't meet due to time issues . It's great when used where it's supposed to be used .
