Are your pictures too good?

Sounds like an absurd question, however I was wondering if anyone, especially women and some couples, would dare suggest that sometimes their photos are actually too good? By that I mean I look at lots of profiles and personally feel too intimated to message many women and couples as the ladies pictures can just make them seem just too hot, not worth even saying hello to etc. Some people with these photos we've started taking to, and also when more relax face pics are sent, come across so much more... Human... That the amazing, alluring advertisements of their body shots. Maybe you've felt it beneficial to put some of your hiking or gardening shots in to push other sides of who you are?

It does seem to be accepted that people who look good should receive different treatment though

Everyone likes different things so what someone likes about someone else may hate others photos. I post my photos for my pleasure. Not for point scoring. I know you didn't say that btw lol. Xx

I don't think photos can be too good.

I appreciate good photography and it shows they want to present themselves well. People with better photos often have good profiles in general.

Though, I do understand why some could find a profile full of excellent photos intimidating. Mine are a mix of professional and "snaps".

I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to post the best pics possible. It’s fairly easy to get good photos with a decent phone nowadays. To me if you can’t be bothered to take a bit of time to present yourself as well as you can it says a lot. Personally the opposite is true for us, if the photos are crap we generally avoid.

I’ve seen photos in certain profiles that look like they were done in a studio. Feel not good enough messaging that person even though they are really nice in the profile. Now I’m not fussed.

I do think that sometimes I could be a massive disappointment in real life but then always post good pics of myself. Its a strange one. I don't think you can really tell until you meet in person anyway. Gives you a good idea though.

If folk think they are "too good" then maybe the problem lies with their perception of others.

Definitely looking at some women pictures on here I’m like she probably has 100’s of men hitting her up daily why bother ! But it’s not a bad thing if you look that good show it off !

Oh very possible, yes. Everyone only has their own personal reality though. I don't feel comfortable messaging people I don't "expect" to get a response from. TBH it can sting, so I tend to avoid risking it, for better or worse.

If you were local to us, we'd be all over that! I think your pics are great, but then I'm the weirdo saying people can be too pretty...!

Love the reality in yours, the guitar pic is fun, shows you have a sense of humour, unlike so many "stunning" pictures etc.

I think the answer lies more in the confidence of the person being intimidated rather than pics being too good. At the end of the day everyone is human and are on here to hopefully meet people for the most part.

I always try to portray us in the best possible way but do worry that I'd be a disappointment in real life.

It’s not for us to decide. Good or bad. We certainly aren’t looking to out do anyone or owt. We take our pictures primarily for us. Because we enjoy it. It’s fun. And we like to try and be a bit artistic. In the same way that we love looking at other people’s photos when something peaks our interest.

I like to think not. I put effort into my photos, sure. But I hope that doesn't put people off my profile, I use photography as a creative outlet, it doesn't mean I'm unapproachable

We're only interested in profiles with good photos - it shows they have some pride care about how they present themselves. A good body in a good photograph can never be too good in our view.

Good photos are important if you are trying to be of interest to someone but photography is not my hobby and I don't enjoy "posing" for a photo . To a large extent photos are a "what you see is what you get" thing which can of course be detrimental to a profile.

We try to put the best pictures we like, hope others like them too. If we like others we fab them. No one should feel they are not good enough to message others. Remember though there's always a profile to go with pictures people post.

Personally I like good photos that show some effort and thought had gone into them, I've never seen a photo and thought that's too good there out my leuge but I have occasionally come across a picture and thought that looks too professional, reverse image searched it and discovered the person was an Instagram influencer from the other side of tbe planet or whatever.... But as long as the pictuemre is actually of the person I don't think it can be 'too good'... I'd like to think people saw mh pictures and apriciated the effort I put into tham

I kinda know what you mean, some look way to polished and professional looking photos, almost rules a lot of all but the top end of the spectrum or the brave souls on here.

I know it's probably not the case in so many of these profiles and they are usually the kindest and down to earth people to meet. Also there is nothing wrong with having excellent pics, in fact quiet the opposite, you deserve the credit.

There is something intimidating to us mortals though
