...who finds the term "bull" pejorative? I think the reason is due to its association with a certain four letter word, and connotations with people making unsubstantiated claims about themselves.

The wife's "lover" sits much easier with me.

Anyway, what are people's thoughts / opinions on this?

Lover has far more of a romantic connotation. I've no issue with the term bull personally, but surely there's a plethora of terms that it could've substituted for? Stud, booty call, bit on the side, toyboy, buck, stallion. Call 'em your bit of spicy Spanish sausage. Who cares if the dick is decent

as part of a cuckold couple op yes i agree i stay clear of bulls i just look for guys i like and make take it from there

I’m not a fan of lover either. I think there are a few more jovial expressions that already exist.

Bull is just another unnecessary edition to the vast set of labels that’s attached to pretty much anything to see days.

Fair enough; and there's always "Paramore" - but that's probably a bit "Mr Darcy" / archaic.
