Blocking Zero Prospects

If you did this, would it be too extreme? If after a message or 2, it was clear either to one or both parties that it would never happen, is it OK to block?

Pros: avoids future unintentional "attempts", etc.

Is this a thing?

We understand why people do it, but we don't as we want people to enjoy our pictures still even if we're not interested in them.

We only block if they're being a tosser!

Yeah I do it all the time.

Purely because even if you say no and they are polite, they’ll be back in a week asking the same question lol! Not to be rude, but half the time because they forgot they spoken to you ha!

Yes. I didn't do this in the beginning - when women first join they get swamped with messages. Those people still pop up in my inbox occasionally trying their luck. Once a dialogue is started they retain the ability to message you in future despite the filters.

My personal opinion.

The block button is there to help you use the site in the way that suits you best. If that means blocking after a couple not messages that's fine

Yeah its good to block people you see little or no potential in or if that person has specifically said they don’t want to meet you. Some on here are in too much of a hurry to meet though, so could you be missing out by blocking just because they don't want to have sex with you after 3 messages. Swingers and roundabouts ay?!

I block without messages. If I see a status, picture or forum comment I don’t like I block. Sometimes it’s something in their profile that makes me think no.

Mine is mainly couples who like to think they are the exception to the very clear rule on my profile haha. Single men I rarely block, i enjoy their pics (hopefully the other way round too) even if we don’t want to meet x

It’s not extreme. And especially if the people clearly aren’t what you thought. It just saves them either inadvertently messaging you again. Or hassling us

I am happy to block if there is no chance of meeting etc. Eg if their profile indicates they only want bbc then I won’t message and waste their time but will also block so they don’t come up on my feed etc.

Absolutely no problem with their preference but it certainly saves unnecessary messages

Shangri-la

I often block based on status updates, things on profiles or comments made on the forums. I used to write private notes on profiles instead, but it was time consuming and usually the note was to say why I never want to meet the person, so it is easier just to block straight away. Now I try to make private notes about positive things instead.

I have blocked people after a few messages as well, when it's clear that we aren't compatible.

Same, if I see someone post a status update looking for something or somebody I'm not then I block them (eg looking for BBC, older men etc). Clears up space on my status feed

I'm not a blocker (only if rude messaging). I think the trouble with blocking that right now I might not want to meet someone for a myriad of reasons ... but that doesn't mean that those reasons can't change and we could end up meeting in the future! Seems silly to cut them off ...

Not really... If someone doesn't respond to a message or deletes it then they have made it clear that they aren't interested in you full stop.

If they were interested in you but not looking to meet at the moment then they would still reply to your message.

But lots don't reply or even look at messages simply because of shear numbers?

I just prefer not blocking because who knows what the future holds ... have no problems being blocked by anyone for whatever reasons, just I've never been a blocker!

I'd say that sounds logical and feels like commonsense but when that vag is involved, fairness and logic and commonsense seem to vanish. The chaser loses it, the owner doesn't give a toss coz it's demand and supply and the one who happens to be teamed up with the owner sometimes begins to grow wings having quickly forgotten that he used to be on the other side of the fence once upon a short time.

Just roll with it.

I definitely know after a couple of messages. I don’t block unless something has weirded me out. But I do sometimes add a note so to remind me of the interaction

But I don’t think blocking is extreme. It’s quick and easy.
