The current advise is to use the correct terminology with children because an abuser would be highly unlikely to use words like vagina and penis - so if your child suddenly starts using something else you know something may be very wrong.

Agree, really important for kids to use the correct terms from a young age. When I was on a Child Protection course they gave the example of a girl who was being abused telling people that her uncle was touching her 'cookie', she had told multiple people before eventually someone realised that she wasn't upset because he took her biscuit
