Question for the bi people of fab, especially bi couples.

Have/would you meet on here where their profile says straight but claim to be bisexual ? Just looking for people's thoughts on it

Yes. My thoughts waver a lot, but I'm settling on it really not mattering on balance. As long as they actually are and not lying to us about it.

Obviously people shouldn't lie in order to get meets with bigots, however that's up to them, and in safe bi company, that is irrelevant.

Nope. In short.

Anyone can claim anything, but we don’t want to have to filter out the people that are genuine from those that are just saying it to get their dick wet. Yes it tars everyone with the same brush but we don’t care.

We understand there are people who put straight because of homophobia (men, mostly) and that is shit for them to have to do that. We would still avoid though rather than risk a meet that isn’t what we’re looking for.

Now I get that some may have genuine reasons for selecting straight when they are in fact bi , however how do you know who to trust and who not to ? Especially seen as there's so many on here that claim to be in this category ...

That's kinda where we stand on it at the moment. We all know there's a lot on here that will talk sweet magic just to get a bunk up and that's why so far we've declined anyone who doesn't/ cant verify their sexuality

You've got to work out what risks and chances matter to you. We seem to get so few decent guys when we stick to the bi only searches we have. We can't make less progress than nothing, so broadening it to "straight" guys doesn't exactly lower the chances!

Did you see my "Bi research!" thread the other day? Not what you're asking, but a little survey i did showed most "straight" guys will at least *say* they are bi if asked...

It’s difficult as a meet with a straight guy when I was younger went really bad. So I prefer guys who are comfortable with their sexuality on here. So I mainly only reply or agree to future meets with a bi guy or couple.

But I must admit due to the amount of ‘straight’ guy profiles that message me, it’s difficult if you do find them attractive. However I am now insisting that a first meeting will be at a club or somewhere public, so that’s putting a few off.

Yeah I do understand they’ll say... but following through (or not) is a different matter. Maybe like another forumite says - ask to meet in a club. That could be a good filter!

Sorry you had a bad experience , this is what puts us off. I'm the arsenal occasions that we've continued chatting to 'straight' bi guys , we do tend to ask for proof I.e verifications , a solo meet with male or fabguys profile ..... we don't get a lot of answers after that lol

I think a big push for us is that by FAR the best guy we met here is "straight", with a fairly shit profile, but is / was a joy to talk to and play with. Selfish prick had the audacity to go get a regular friend though! The nerve!

Nope! If they can’t even be honest with themselves.... well...

Also, if they want to be in denial and stay in the closet (on a site where you are encouraged and should be able to sexually express yourself)....whatever— but I don’t want anything to do with it. The closet is a dark space....

It’s a good idea and it doesn’t surprise me that they go silent, when asked for further proof of their bisexuality. Similar so far, when I tell them I’ll meet in a public space like a bar or club. They also go silent.

As I go to bi club nights it’s not an issue meeting up with the community at large, so it’s never a problem for me these days, getting meets

I think people have all sorts of reasons though. Whilst message filters exist, setting Straight there will cut down on lots of other single guys messaging, so I don't think it's always right to directly link states of denial or such to how they use a really clunky website. Like I said, our favourite guy was extremely open and not personally denying a thing outside of his profile.

Dublin and London

It would really depend on what we have discussed before the meet and how well I got to know the person before meeting.

I've met a couple where he had straight on his profile but when we got chatting he was curious about wanking and sucking a cock. We left it that if he wanted to play, I was happy to on the meet.

Also, this may be me and mean, but I’m just not down with people who want all the gay or queer sex, but none of the struggles aka social stigma/fear.

I mean, obviously they can do it— and queer people are free to have sex with them and etc. but it’s a major turn off for me and makes me give serious side eye.

Also one looks ridiculously desperate and too eager to please if they have to change their sexuality to get meets on here.

Why would you want to meet someone who doesn’t want YOU or your sexuality? Make it make sense. I want people to like and accept me for the authentic me.

Exactly as above. If they have straight but say they are bi we would avoid. What else could they be lying about and keeping from you.

Jenny has insisted that if we meet a bi guy the first meet will be just me and him with her just watching. That will filter out the lyi g so called bi guys. We would not be just after guys who only suck cock either. Orally bi only guys will not be for us!

As a lot fib about being bi me and the FWB tend to stick to guys who are honest about it, like us.

If they're fibbing about being bi, what else are they fibbing about?

We also find straight guys will message telling us they're bi just to get a meet with her.

We only play together and we only play fully bi.....

Probably not, to be honest. I’m not sure what the point is of saying you’re something you’re not when you’re looking for something specific.

It’s not like there aren’t like minded people out there looking exactly for someone like you.

In a word no.

To expand, we find that the majority of "fab straight" people who we've talked to are simply straight and it soon becomes apparent that they edging their bets to get to luna.
