Great going, can only dream of averages like that over those distances at the moment. We’re both really unfit compared to normal but slowly returning back to form.

Done a hilly 40 odd mile yesterday and got absolutely soaked again,at least there was no hail today.

Totally counts, find what works for you; be that music, a tv show, perving on fab or a training program/app. It's a love and hate thing with the indoor training but really shows early season who has been on the turbo all winter

It's new to me, as I struggle finding time / good enough weather to get out on my road bike.

I done the 10 min fitness test and it said my heart rate was too high to test. Haha must be so unfit now

Just stick with it man, the turbo has made me a much stronger cyclist, do one of the FTP tests and then you will be able to look at training plans

It’ll be mainly commuting when I have to return to the office and it’ll be so much nicer than sitting on a packed bus. Also going to be for weekend rides as well but I haven’t cycled anywhere in years so need to build up to anything major.

£1500 should get you a new bike, carbon and 105. Definitely get your SPD pedals and you'll be fine after 10 or 15 minutes practicing on grass clipping in and out. The only downside to any new bike are basic wheels that you'll want to upgrade after 6 months.

If you're unsure about second hand, get someone you know who knows what to look for and you'll get a £3-4k bike for £1-1.5k. Also, once you've got your bike go and get a proper bike fit, it'll be the most important thing you can do and will ensure you're getting the best experience on your bike.

Majorca, a couple of years ago cycling up to the lighthouse and having electric bikes on fat tyres gliding past you.... It opens up cycling to a wider audience and helps bring people together who may otherwise be excluded, which is a good thing.

Managed to get out at the weekend for the first time in a while and do a couple of the local trails. Was great cause they were perfectly dry compared to them usually being covered in deep mud. Seems I get dirty looks from most roadies when I'm out doing a short road ride on the MTB. Used to get head nods as we passed (I still try to be polite) but I'm met now with rolling eyes and grumpy faces.

Don't fall over at traffic lights!

I've been riding clipless for years but just occasionally you come unstuck (or rather not unstuck) and it's just embarrassing having to drag yourself out of the road.

Any suggestions for a comfortable seat please? Got my bike serviced after a few years of not using it and can’t believe how awful the seat is. No idea how I used to ride it everyday

Impossible question to answer as everyone is different. Go and get a bike fit and your sit bones/pressure areas can be measured so you can get the right size seat. Thereafter it's trial and error as what suits one person may not work for you.

If you have a Specialized store near you they have a machine, free of charge that will detect your pressure areas and give you one of their 3 sizes.

The other tip would be buy a decent pair of bib shorts, don't buy cheap.

Look on Zwift power for the correct results. It disqualifies anyone who's average is above the category

Just had a bike fit and comfort levels on my new bike are through the roof. And a decent local bike shop will let you try saddles. Go and have a chat with them.

And I echo the point about bib shorts. Buy as good as you can - Endura and Castelli are very good - if you buy Castelli buy at least a size up!!

back to where it was purchased I know you cant even open the Bosch motor without voiding the warranty, needs to be a qualified registered service centre or they have to send them on to one. Would imagine it's the same for others

I almost entered that one but decided against it since I did 100 miles with my mates yesterday instead. Have a good one!

Many thanks, it was a fantastic route, well organised and 3 great food stops. Managed the 110 in 6hrs 6 minutes at an 18mph average. Great day for us both. Both sat in the bath soaking and resting the legs."

With cycling shorts you do get what you pay for, I’ve you are going to be spending hours in the saddle then invest in a decent pair £80-£140, personally I like the Le passione, nopinz and bioracer shorts.

I start with good second hand versions from eBay to find a brand that suited me. Ended up that DHB are perfect fit and fee all round.

Remember that shorts can be quite a different fit between brands.

Also M/L/XL in all brands can have totally different overall fits
