Car parks with ANPR

Heathrow

I know a lot of the more seasoned fabbers here prefer hotels, clubs etc but for those who enjoy a bit of outdoor fun, I have a question.

We have started looking for discrete places near us around Thanet or Canterbury areas, off the beaten track for some outdoor fun once (or if) distancing restrictions ease. However, it seems that most of the 24hr woodland car parks now have ANPR to charge for parking.

So would this put you off, having your car photographed and having to pay a couple of quid for fun, or is it a bonus that theoretically boy racers won’t visit. Does anyone know how these car parks are monitored, computer or real person?

Your thoughts gratefully appreciated.

beside the sea

Normally Anpr isnt monitored, takes a pic of reg on entry and leaving and registers the time you've been there. No human interaction needed, usually.

The carparks with anpr usually have a three hour limit, which can be plenty of time Let me know if you plan a visit to the Lakes

Filthy Desires Upon Trent

Some ANPR car parks have small signage and not so obvious cameras.

They make money by people not paying.

Got stung in Devon. I just ignored the ever threatening letters and put not resident at this address.

That was 4 years ago.

Scamming bastards

Thank you. Will do. Just wondered if the thought would put people off.

The ones I’m looking at have stated that ANPR is now in operation. We are happy to pay a couple of quid for an evening of fun. Just wondered what the pros and cons were. Hopefully they will keep boy racers away and no need for police to visit looking for drug dealers as they will move elsewhere ..... hopefully.
