Offering to shave

If you're a short beard / designer stubble kind of man, is it weird to offer to shave for someone you'd meet?

I generally have about an 10-20mm long beard these days, but it's not at all important to me and I'm happy to lose it on any number of whims, not least including just plain boredom recently. But I get the feeling it can seem a bit try hard to offer to "change" to make someone like the look of you more.

Why would you want to meet someone that doesn't like the way you look?

I don't think it's weird, if you're not attached to it then I'd say go for it. I'm not attached to my pubes, I'm happy to shave them off or grow them out but I'll open up the conversation and say I'm happy to have a shave before a meet.

It means nothing to me, takes about 10 extra minutes in the shower or 5 if Mr is helping but it could mean a lot for the other person! I find that hair can be stimulating, sometimes overstimulating. Though in a fan of a true Viking with a big bushy beard, if I was meeting you specifically and you gave me the option I'd ask you to go smooth so I don't get any friction rash from the stubble

If you're cool with it bring it up! Worst that happens someone says "I don't really care to be honest"

Actually from having a look at your profile if I was meeting you both specifically I wouldn't change a thing, I love your facial hair. How I wish I could squeeze into your age range

"Why would you want to meet someone that doesn't like the way you look? "

As I said, I like the way I look in various ways. I don't feel like a lesser person, with or without facial hair.

I have no beards on my profile, I don’t find them attractive.... but I think I find it LESS attractive when they say they’ll get rid of it for me!

Don’t change just cos it’s not someone’s ideal xx

That's certainly the received wisdom I get from here, but again, my facial hair means very little to me, and making other people have a good experience should matter to a point. Now if it was one of those big cliched affairs that someone stakes their image on, of course that's a bit pathetic...

I do find a bit weird, not gonna lie.

I'd rather someone was comfortable with the way they look than think they have to change to be more attractive.
