Wondering something here - as a guy whenever I go for a massage it’s pretty much standard that I’ll be offered “extras”. Sometimes I take the plunge sometimes I don’t. But, is it the same for women too? I never hear anything about it but find it hard to believe it’s an exclusive offer only to men. Have any of you ever been offered anything? If so what was your reaction?

Yeah all the ones I go to are high street Thai places. I suppose country clubs, hotels etc have to stay squeaky clean for the wider reputation. Is it something you’d like to be offered if the situation arose?

I visited one of the better Thai places once (still known for a good massage and extras too) and while waiting in the rather luscious waiting room, I saw a couple, male and female, leave one of the treatment rooms together followed by a gentleman that worked there I ashumed, I wonder what treatment they had received together.

That’s interesting, anything in particular that puts you off? It’s interesting to see the different expectations between male and females, like even though I don’t go for extras all the time, I would at least appreciate the offer (unless of course it was somewhere I wouldn’t expect anything like that, family hotels etc, then I’d be a bit creeped out lol)

If seeking a male masseuse for a tantric, sensual, or yoni massage then that's different. Some sort of sexual relief is normally advertised or agreed upfront as part of the service. It's usually fingering. Can be oral or sex too xx

If I went for a musculoskeletal massage and the therapist tried to touch me anywhere than the area we had discussed prior, I hope they are prepared for a visit from the Police

I cannot believe for a second that a reputable massage therapist would do anything sexual because its simply not permitted to advertise sexual services of that nature.

I don't generally get massages in spa hotels etc anymore because my medical conditions generally make them go

I guess... -warming huge stereotypes here- there's the presumption that women don't have to pay for it. I would guess an extra is a charged affair.

Also the presumption that men are more sexual than women.

And I guess it's also about the venue people attend?

I find that disturbing really. I've massaged on a professional basis in the past and there are strict limits for both therapist and client.

Your client in effect "assaulted" you as you hadn't given consent. Imagine if it had been the other way round?

It's these sort of expectations make it difficult for professionals to work safely. In this case you enjoyed it but equally it could have compromised you and your reputation as a professional.

Funny you should say that because I went to a professional massage therapist once and she gave me the best 2 hour massage ever. Yes, it's totally against industry guidelines and wrought with difficulties. Is it dangerous for the therapist? Fucking hell yes. You may not agree with it, but it happens.

I've had a few female masseuses in the usual spas and beauty salons but on one occasion I had a male masseuse and geez, it was a heightened experience.

I now only go to a great spa outside Leeds. Definitely not the kind of place where you get extras. I really like the masseuse/client scenario but only had a couple of experiences in a club in a massage room. Once I was getting a massage from a woman and she was massaging around my boobs, that was definitely a turn on but nothing happened for obvious reasons.
