Anyone else into ASMR? Just been listening to an Angela White ASMR video online. Thought it would be a massive turn on, but I just feel soooo chilled out, it's weird haha

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, to use its Sunday name.

Bit hard to describe, but it's basically sounds such as whispering, clicking, moaning and gasping and it triggers a relaxing response, in your brain.

I've just had a look at it on YouTube and it is so not what I expected, to be fair I found it a bit strange.

I found a guy eating and mountains of chicken nuggets and noodles, stuffing them in his mouth as fast as he could, quite a few girls role-play hairdressing appointments and stuff like that. I really didn't think it would be that!

We've discovered it during the pandemic. Neither of us find it arousing but it's strangly addictive. As someone mentioned above, Gibi is very good and we like the lady that eats odd cakes and treats she makes.

I’ve used ASMR videos to relax and fall asleep to for years! I went to a doctor appointment, and he was so quiet and thorough in his examination that I was tingling like crazy! That night, I looked on you tube for medical examination videos and stumbled upon the world of ASMR, specifically Alien Abduction by CalmingEscape ASMR. That was about 8 years ago!

Sadly, my ASMR reaction isn’t the same as it used to be, and I don’t tingle anymore by watching videos. I think that it is something to do with knowing what to expect. That, along with the fact that many ASMR videos these days are absolute garbage! Some people just never shut up in their videos. And it can be really off-putting when a fully grown adult is playing dress-up and talking to themselves.

These days I try to find unintentional ASMR videos, where the action in the video is a real-life event, and the talking is quiet and very minimal. There’s a compilation video of a chiropractor using his nervoscope that I find really relaxing. But, other than that, sadly I’m watching less and less.
