1. I know we are on Fab, but why does submission always equates to sexual submission?

2. Why does this sexual submission never seem to differ from ordinary sexual play?

3. How can a "dom/me sub relationship" that is purely consensual vanilla sex play be called D/S?

I am always puzzled by people calling themselves "doms", "masters" and "subs" whose only ability and interest is sexual.

simple answer really there are no rules therefore people can be what and whom they want

Yes, that old chestnut. People can do what they want, but actions have a name, as does behaviour. The 100 metres is not the same as a marathon although both are based on running. Likewise bottoming is not the same as submission.

I had a female friend that put subslut in her profile name and wondered why all the messages she received were about sex. She had not done the research and had just liked the sound of "subslut". Some people like to be called a "dom", "master" or "sub" because it sounds good without knowing what is involved. Of course kink is a broad church, but there actions that fall out of it.

Too many people use BDSM words, poses or iconography because those things have an attraction. No research is done because they don't get beyond their own stereotype of BDSM or porn stereotypes of BDSM.
