Using photo "fabs" to decide which to keep?

When deciding which photos to keep and which to change, do you think the number of fabs the photo has had is relevant or useful?

I have a couple of photos which I've been advised (friendly advice, which I asked for) aren't flattering, and which I should remove, by some but that have been raved about by others. These photos have a similar number of fabs to other photos uploaded around the same time.

Do you think it is a reasonable assumption that photos uploaded around the same time and with a similar number of fabs and positive comments are roughly as popular as each other, albeit to different people?

Great idea.

Might have to go and have a look now. I shall report back

I'd lose the blue jeans wall photo and the first one. Keep the canon photo as I'm sure you love all of the "do you want to see my big gun" emails.

You may not believe this but I've never had one of those. The only reference to that photo anyone has ever made is when they recognise the location.

It would take me my entire lifetime to recognise that castle.

By the way, you didn't say whether you think photos uploaded at the same time and with the same number of fabs can be considered equally popular as each other, in general.

Would say not as people likely to fab all at once. I suspect.

Although I can only see your public ones. Naturally.

Your avatar picture looks rather good but not on show, do you intend on showing?

I would say share photo's you are most comfortable with.

No...fabs can be nice but we take and display photos on our profile that we like, if others do then it's a bonus.

Some photos get changed regularly and others stay on longer.

Good plan. I need to update photos drastically. Some are 2 years old.

Personally I think it's a load of nonsense. I do fab pics I genuinely think are good but I have seen some truly hideous ones that have been fabbed. I am sure Some blokes spend half their time doing it on the remote chance of something developing from it

Hmm well were totally different here .. We generally only show the ones that people fab and if i put up new photos for public and its not that popular i move it to friends only.

I don't pay attention to fabbing of pics.

I didn't even realise it existed until not long back.

I use what makes me feel confident and sexy.
