I think it depends on the sport. There are some things 1 sex will always do better than the other. So mixed sports will not always work.

I think its only a matter of time before women start playing for mens teams as there are a few that could do decently.

Oh and in regards to wages in sport. Pay should be comparable with the incomes of that sport.

Some male sports generate much higher incomes so will pay higher.

Surely the personal rewards from professional sports are based on the earnings from the events ? In tennis,for example, the women's game is not seen as being so entertaining ,by many, as the men's game and so attracts less revenue. Personal rewards follows suit.

How will women ever have an equal opportunity to get their sporting endeavours watched by more people, to earn more revenue, if they earn so much less, are less likely to be able to devote 100% time due to needing to work at other jobs etc. It's chicken and egg. Women's professional sport was suppressed and held back for so long that in many cases, such as football, we are trying to make up a deficit of going on for a century.

But we're just little women, we'll obediently do what the male dominated sports boards/governing bodies tell us to do, eh?!

9 time's out of 10 male sport have more viewers so more money form ads nothing to do with sex.

Dunno...women porn stars get paid a whole lot more than men. I can only think of tennis where there's equal weighting...but I do contest that the women's game is less exciting than men. Physical sports should be kept separate. Things like horse riding maybe is fine where its more skill than physical.

I can assure you that riding a horse weighing a ton around a cross country course or over jumps 6 feet high requires a LOT of physical fitness and strength. It's not just a question of skill.

Go on, tell me women's professional football has been able to be played for just as long as men's etc. I'm ready and waiting to be schooled. The FA suppressed women's football for so long, denying women's teams the chance to play on FA member grounds, for over 50 years!

I was prevented from playing football as an 11 year old girl because FA rules stated teams could not be mixed after age 11. There were no teams for just girls. I wasn't allowed to compete for my secondary school form in the interform football competition, even though the boys wanted me to. Boys could play every sport that were on the girl's PE curriculum though (hockey, rounders, tennis, swimming, athletics, cross country, netball) yet I could not play football. Or rugby for that matter. I could probably have pushed myself into cricket if I'd been interested, and that's about it.

All depends on sponsorship ect and finances, if the crowds and sponsorship isn't there how can they be paid the same.

Noticed in Tennis women dont play as many sets also, but I think in all other sports its the same.

No reason why they shouldn't be paid the same if the numbers are right financially.
