When I receive those calls, I say “Sorry, the wife does all the household bills, I’ll just get her” .......then just lay the phone down.......

I managed waste about 20 minutes of his time before he swore at me and hung up

Good shout! I’ve never timed how long they sit on the line for, when I lie the phone down, but I’m sure they’ve not called back
