I agree what your say but I have I have a sneaky feeling that the lady’s get far many more messages than the chaps and I guess sometimes it can be near on impossible for them to reply to them all

98% of here is a complete waste of communication. Lots of new profiles filling in lockdown time with no fear of having to follow it throug, everyone we have met barring two people are those we know from clubs. Reason we don’t message back very often as not to waste anymore of each other’s time.

Symptom of the current situation. Most conversations get to the point where the next step would be a social, then just dry up.

Or go onto kik, where conversation goes to die lol.

I have managed to maintain conversation with a handful of nice people. Mostly couples I’m interested in socialising with at a club once lockdown is over.

Other than that the forums are way more fun

The vast majority of messages tend to be of the "hi" "what you up to?" type, which really doesn't inspire a response. Most clearly haven't bothered to read my profile & are just messaging any female who is online in their general location. If I bother to reply it usually becomes obvious very quickly that they are just wanting someone to provide them with wank material. There are also a few who are still looking for meets which just gets them reported & blocked.

There is a tiny minority who send a decent first message & a conversation begins but they are few & far between.

Our profile says we're not into mail ping pong normally. And feel it's pointless chatting now. It will go off the boil by the time meets come again.

We've blocked one guy today. Just constant one liners about, when where and how we will meet. We didn't reply to most of his messages. He never got the hint, so he's earnt himself a block.

I'm generally polite and will reply to anyone who has taken the time to send an interesting, considered message, even if it's a polite 'no thank you'. I have some very interesting, stimulation conversations with people who live so far away that's it's very unlikely that we'll meet, but I don't feel obligated to talk to just anyone.

If people are obviously messaging because they're just bored or horny, I'm not interested - I don't have the time, or the inclination to provide people with entertainment, I'll give their message as much time and consideration as they did when they wrote it, and simply delete it...which I think is reasonable.

Take how many messages you've received today and multiply it by two minutes for each, to check the profile and reply "no thanks". I'll guess you'll have maybe two minutes. Women can get hundreds of messages each day, couples can get lots (we might get thirty if we upload a new pic). Thirty times two minutes means an hour of replying, then the added time of replying to the "why not" messages.

FAB FAQ says no reply means no thanks, but those that can't be bothered to read profiles also can't be bothered to read the FAQs either.

Some days I can get over 100 messages. I don’t even have many photos I’m public view, so I can’t even imagine what it’s like for others lol

never wanted to fuck the whole site. I have used it on and off for 10 years... have missed the social side / occasional meets...

being a guy, the excitement of a 500 / 800 mile drive for a night of fun or even better, a local meet...

I’ve Met some great people... all like minded...when the time’s right to meet again, will look forward to it!

I would know not to bother them and the message didn't just get lost in the masses. BTW. I would always send a decent message.

I started chatting to a lot of people during lockdown 1.0. Most slipped away into the shadows of the internet. There were a few that remained who I met when it was safe to do so.

The same pattern is emerging again. Since this lockdown started I’ve been chatting to lots of new people who have shown an interest in meeting. Let’s see how that pans out at the end of this lockdown.
