It's a sensible question, someone from FS should answer it

I'm sorry to hear of your friend, OP.

Maybe Admin could help with answering this, as well as closing your friends account?

Does an account stay live indefinitely then?

In the middle

My partners profile is still here and he’s been gone nearly 3 years, I did report his passing but nothing was done

"Does an account stay live indefinitely then? "

No, if people do as advised Admin will help sort it. Obviously there has to be some checks before they can do it

So an account has to be reported as deceased or whatever, it doesn't ever expire after a period of inactivity?

...So, as a sobering thought, unless I tell someone from my vanilla life that I'm on here, or someone on here finds out that I've died, my account will live on forever?

Surely this must just be clogging up the servers with inactive UNLOS profiles?!

I believe this is the same as with social media. Either give someone access to the account and instructions in the event of death or you can leave instructions in your will....otherwise accounts are active forever.

My family and close friends are on FB, they will know if something happens to me and can get my ac shut down.

Kink sites are surely a different matter? I know other kink sites close your ac after long periods of inactivity, which makes loads of sense, even if someone has just left the scene or whatever. I see posts where people have set up new accounts because they can't remember their password from yonks ago - seems pointless on all fronts, to keep these dormant accounts open.

Admin: Will this ever be reviewed?
