Just a simple Hi or how are you?

As for the OP I don't use pet names in openers, I tend to be a bit formal in that its a good morning/evening followed by wither the name on their profile or “both”

Reality of it is - just read the persons profile, pick something from it you want to expand upon or at least present a question I can at least answer back to.

I don’t care if you’re considered the most amazing person on this site - I’ll continue to block them if they can’t be bothered to construct a worthwhile message.
