If you are looking lustfully then I'm not sure there's a difference other than terminology. It's just perving is a more lewd phrasing. But whether you look discreetly or obviously, quickly or for a long time, if you are doing it because you find the sight sexually attractive, it's all some form of perving as far as I'm concerned.
