I've only recognised one person. I haven't contacted them and neither will I, even though they are in a couple and fit what we're looking for.

It wouldn't feel right for me, sadly, so I will continue to admire from afar and smile inwardly when our paths cross in real life!!

It's a weird one isn't it? Obviously I have or wouldn't have posed the question. Been toying with the idea of saying hi but think it might be too strange. Probably best to leave it and try and pull her in real life. Hahaha. At least I know she's a deviant like me.

What if the person innocently messaged and didnt know it was you until you'd started exchanging messages. Would that make a difference?

This happened to us. We were messaging a couple and getting on fine so we sent a face pic then didn't hear from them for about a week.

When we did it turned out they knew us from work and explained that they had been debating how to proceed as we were just the type of couple they were looking. However they decided that the work aspect would just make it too uncomfortable so they didn't want to pursue anything.

They also explained that they decided ignorer to prevent any embarrassment at work they would not tell us who they were and we still don't know to this day. Not for want of speculation though.

It was probably for the best in the end but still curious several years later.

It's better to let others do their own thing here, so you can just block them as a good option, without making contact.

A few people join anyway and don't stay for years, as some of us do, so they may be blissfully ignorant of any embarrassment they may have felt.

It's not like most social media where you search and connect with all of the people you've known from your wider life.

Has happened a few times. Twice with guy's I went to school with, I blocked one as he's dating a friend! The other one recently told me he knows who I am but not to panic as he respects our privacy. Obviously I had to know who it was and turns out we are Facebook friends too. Been chatting quite a bit so we are gonna meet when we can.

The other time was with a couple we'd been chatting to. They sent their pic and my mouth dropped open as they were actually friends who we go out with on occasion! We debated not responding but I decided it was unfair us knowing about them so we replied with a pic saying only fair they know who they had been talking to but due to shared friends etc we didn't think it would be a good idea to take the friendship to another level. This was about 5 years ago and we are good friends today. When we go out alone its actually a lot of fun, flirty undercurrents and also able to talk about what we like. If it was down to the male halves we'd have all fucked long ago but us ladies want to put our friendship first. Mrs

I’ve been recognised and have recognised people

I think it’s inevitable to a degree, but it’s not like only ONE of you is up to something that requires discretion is it, so I’m fine about it as it’s even Steven whenever you do.

Choice there after is to politely carry on looking for someone else, or chat and see if things are in place for something to happen

Same rule for people that you don’t know as for the people you do know ... be respectful, be polite, and be mature

We’ve also been contacted by a single 19 year old male who was the son of a friend. He obviously didn’t know who we were so we politely declined. Far too many complications there.

A couple of times.

Once we got messaged by a man I'd worked with a few years earlier. Of course about 2wks after he messaged we bumped into him and his presumably unaware wife whilst shopping. We felt so sorry for her. Deleted and blocked!

Another time we got messaged by our Son's best friend. He had even lived with us as a teenager for a while when he was having problems at home and got kicked out. Again we deleted and blocked but a year or so later he messaged again on a new account.

I had that!!! Different site catering towards the kinkier side of things. Can’t even remember the sites name. Checked out a local lady who sounded cool. Was my bloody sister!!! Needless to say I quickly got out of the profile and closed my account and never went there again!!!!!

Yes. With my ex on our couples account. Messaging a guy that sounded good. Asked for face pics and it was a guy I worked with.

He’s a good guy so I can clean and told him it was me. I’d rather have done that than just blocked him after seeing face pics.

We chatted for a few mins and then told him to enjoy himself. We didn’t meet him or anything

About 5 years ago we attended a house party 25 miles from home that comprised of 14 people: four other couples, a selected single man, a gorgeous TV and two single middle aged women....... one of whom lives directly across the road from us, and still does.

We just agreed not to directly interact or play with her during this party and we've never mentioned it since.

I tend to make a note of the person and pass them by, someone I worked with discovered I was on here and didn’t offer the same courtesy and kept messaging me on here and social media so changed his profiles after being deleted and blocked, told old work colleagues about it who then contacted me about it, he then came into my place of work as well and had the cheek to ask if we were still friends.

Despite reporting him on here nothings been done

This happened to me, I was messaging a couple and they asked for a face pic which I sent and the reply was “I was hoping f it was you”. I didn’t have a clue who it was though and my heart was racing a bit but they revealed themselves and I knew the lady and said hi to her most days but didn’t really know her to speak to. She said he had wanted me for ages and used to talk about me to her husband which was good but they didn’t know I was on here.

I’ve seen loads I know on here, always made it known if they send face pics.

Never had an issue.

Got my friend a profile set up and we’ve clubbed together...

Then bumped into one of our boss’ and his wife in a club

Just the same as being on tinder for me... if your not hurting anyone no issues xx

Think it’s a bit off they didn’t say who they were. You had shown openness and respect and they’re hiding. It might have started a friendship if nothing else.

I’ve recognised a few. At an awards do I met an old colleague who I thought at the time was coming on to me. I fancied her but decided against reciprocating as we have mutual friends. Then a week or so later I saw her on Fab. And she’s fit as anything....one that got away.

I would never approach someone I knew though. I think that’s overstepping and breaching their privacy. The idea of using Fab is for mutual privacy I think. Having said that, I had the same situation as Hey Ho and I shared my details after they sent a pic. We had a good chat but that was it.

Swinging problems eh?!

We’ve bumped into people at a club with people we both worked with on the same night two separate couples.

And one of the ladies my other half works with had contacted me from here knew she was single so that was okay but didn’t know she was bisexual

I’ve never been recognised as I’ve not got much on my profile but I’ve noticed a few people from off fab over the years. One I let know as they are a very trustworthy pair the rest I’ve just bypassed

I've never actually come across anyone I know from 'outside of Fab', well, not yet anyway. But. I do often see a couple doing their weekly shop whose popular pics often grace the upper echelons of the Most Fab'd page and have noticed others, mainly other men, given them cursory glances or even full on knowing smirks.

I know of a uncle and nephew who saw each other in a club and found they were on the same swinging site (not this one)

A new fem joined a site and i was chatting to her about local searches. I explained to her how to do it. She then went quiet for 10 mins or so then said “OMG my nextdoor neighbour is on here!” Then “it says she’s Bisexual I thought she was always looking at my boobs i know why now”

Well my mum and stepdad are on here! Safe to say I won’t be contacting. That’s why I do t have a face pic as a profile!

Also I recognise a couple of profiles from real but they’re too close for comfort too! "

Over the years I've recognised a few. Not contacted any as they were not of interest. I've been recognised quite a few times, work associates, sons friends etc. Never bothered me as my family and close friends know this side of me.

A while ago, I came across the profile of one of my cousins on here.

Problem is that he lives with his girlfriend and they have a young child. And while gf and I aren't particularly close, we are friendly. Enough for me to know that they don't have an open relationship.

I decided not to say anything - mostly because I don't want to risk outing myself, honestly, and I'm not interested in being involved with other people's drama - but it's made interacting with her awkward to say the least.
