Still awake!!

Hi guys and girls, I can't sleep and it's doing my head in, I haven't been sleeping properly since loosing my job on Monday, I'm really not after sympathy because shit happens and I'm a big boy now lol,just wondering if anybodys got any advice on how to get off to sleep?

Watch the Open University programmes on BBC2... a few minutes of some bloke from the 70s talking about geology or archeology should be enough to send you off to sleep.

theres no quik fix . have tried everything .im awake most nights on/off.try keep busy during day .if anyone has a solution they will make a fortune .

I have a real problem with insomnia, my solution is to rub one out.

Seriously though the worst thing you can do is to lie in bed not sleeping. If you smoke don't have one an hour before bed, don't drink tea/coffee, don't exercise before bed or do anything too stimulating.

Get up and read a book, don't have a tv in the bedroom, this helps you to associate your bed with sleeping wich is important. Oh and don't forget knock one out.

And remember insomnia is an illness, if it gets too bad don't be afraid to seek professional help.
