Shaft and balls for me. Around just the shaft does very little for me. The cord one I mentioned earlier had 2 loops, one for behind the balls one for the shaft. That's probably the only time I'd go for the shaft.

Take a piece of string and circle it under the base of your cock and balls. Divide this circumference measurement by 3.14 which will give you the diameter of ring you require. On a stainless steel triple ring, this is the size of the largest ring. A bit of shopping around should enable you to find what you want.
