Hi all,

First forum post. Hubby and I are very new to the scene and I think we picked the wrong time to do it (pandemic and all that!) but I thought we were working out what to look for with fake people etc but now we’re not so sure!

What are your piece of advice or things to spot to wheedle out the fakes and time wasters??

You get used to spotting them.

Just joined in last day or two, nothing about them, "will fill in later", no pics at all, asking for pics when they have none, the list goes on....

Stick with it, you will find it gets easier with time to spot the dreamers, fakes and pic collectors.

I hope it doesn't put you off as there are a few of genuine ones on here

I would say taking your time to get to know someone, especially in the current climate

Personally I don't really do sex chat in Fab, in fact I'm probably really vanilla in fab - got stung a few times in my early days with photos.. I thought everyone was genuine lol. Gosh i soon found out

So proceed with caution.. Look how old their photos are, do a check (reverse search).. Do they want to talk dirty /intensely and swap photos

Are they photo verified, meet verified.. Ask them them not

Do they go in chat rooms /cam.. (You could see them then)

Do they use 'we' if you are talking to a single .. And 'i' if you are taking to a couple

So many red flags, but if you keep your head and use your common sense you should be OK.. Always remember if it seems too good to be true, it usually is

We’re really new here and caught out a few “couples” where it was only a guy which at first we thought was a really weird thing to be doing but kinda clicked on that it is actually a thing a lot of these guys do,

We also found that if chatting for a little while, the missus always seems to be work/busy/sleep/ out (ald knows where when we’re locked down)

Like a few of the guys here have said, just go slow and making sure they have at least picture verification is a must for us now, as well a tip somebody gave to us, if somebody asks to speak via Kik, get them to send a live picture of them both if they don’t like that is probably worth avoiding, but definitely stick with it and the forums are pretty good places to chat to real people

Trust your gut. If it feels wrong it probably is.

Don't do sex chat or send any pics until you've actually met them in person. Some men just want to wank about the fantasy of meeting. They pretend to be women/ couples/ hot sexy men to help the wank.

think if you angle the camera you can capture the selected action without facial features could be pulling your big toe lol

That live pic on kik thing doesn't always work, we had a girl who wanted us to do that and we did but for some reason the picture wasn't showing something right on her end, so she didn't believe it was genuine, we offered WhatsApp but of course some people don't want that because it exposes your number

It’s a tough one that.

Gut instinct is the only way I can describe it. No pics, empty profile, I generally tend to not bother speaking to. But I’ve seen some truly amazing levels of detail on what turned out to be fake accounts.

My advice is try and stick to club meets or socials, and always have a back up plan if your set on meeting.

Short profile, no or only a couple of pics, no verifications - esp if been on over a year. Asking fir your face pics immediately. Jumping straight into sex chat.

Ask for a direct pic with them doing something strange that they won’t already have - hand on shoulder type thing & if a couple must be of both together abs not separate.

Saying all that you will get a feel for it fairly quickly

Do an image search on anything they send you post.

Profiles without photo or meet veris - doesn't mean they are fake but proceed with caution.

Moving to kik or another platform quickly

Wanting you to send them photos yet they only keep sending the ones on their profile

Profiles that message either sporadically or at certain times of the day (i.e.: late at night when the wife is asleep)

Thanks for everyone’s input and comments! They are all really helpful. When we first joined the site we had no idea about the ‘rules and etiquette’ of swinging and admitted probably went in all guns blazing so to speak, so learning all of this has been helpful for us to know who isn’t genuine and how also to respect everyone on here while everyone looks and finds what they are looking for. Roll on clubs opening!

A while ago we were staying at a hotel and fancied a a bit of fun so put up a meet on here.

Three couples replied, all three couldn't get their female half to the phone as she away or ill or whatever.

I met one couple years back, via another site, that I chatted to on the phone. I was convinced she was a guy because of her deep voice. Turned out she wasn't. But had a fun laugh about it with them. Broke the ice at least.

Is it just me that isn't convinced that reverse image search doesn't always work? There are definitely fake profiles on here whose pics don't show up when you R.I.S it. That Google Lens that comes up when you "right click" a photo on here is crap as well.

As mentioned before, follow your gut instinct and you won’t go far wrong. Beware of the desperate and impatient messages, where they leap into dirty talk immediately and want to ‘friend’ you straight away. Chances are they are using you as wank fodder. You’ll figure it out.

Unfortunately being based in the channel islands there is a lack of choice and people tend to be extremely reserved with sending any pictures whatsoever. There is always the added risk of you knowing them or somehow being connected through a mutual friend, I can't wait for the borders to finally open again and start having some proper meets with like minded people in the UK.

7. Avoids answering the question "Do you have a face pic"

8. Couples - Male partner or Husbands messages 'my wife/gf has never had ....' or 'my wife/gf has always wanted to try....'

9. Profile name ends in a long series of numbers i.e 'profilename345534668'

Flags we look for

Account is old but still not photo verified.

Account is old no verified meets.

Account has no face pics (public or private).

No new photo's for a year.

Couples account but male plays alone.

Account description is one sentence.

No face pic not always an indicator. Some, dont want to show face pic straight away because of their job/careers/position or self confidence. Understandable to me.

If you have a android phone hold your finger on there pic and it says search lense . It will search Google and majority of sites where you don't need to be a member I.e pornsites etc 9 times out of 10 pics ive thought r fake have come back with results . Hope this helps

It's a sad fact that it takes time to sift through the time wasters and fakes. My general rule of thumb is not to bother with those without pics, those who don't have much to say in their profile and if I'm being really picky I only message with those who are members.

That all said, there are some fabulous people on here.. it's worth sticking with.

That happens a lot. Asking them to both cam briefly to show they're a couple tends to sort the genuine from the fantasist.
