Pmsl taking the piss or what?!!

Just thought i'd do that random thing of typing our user name into the yahoo search engine with the word "swingers" and I am shocked at what I came accross! Apparently I am "one of Kents premier BDSM contacts" alongside one of my photos!

Another I discovered, again of myself with another pic on Bondage247.com!!

Now i'm not adverse to any of that scene if i'm honest but can also say I am not actually registered on there so some naughty people have been stealing me lol!

I know where they've got the pics and info from as we were registered on another large and well-known rip off site but am just shocked they've used my pics and profile!!

Do it yourself and see what somes up....

this is a subject i brought up in another thread a while back, the fact that picture collectors can use your profile pictures outside the site to do as they please with, and we are all liable to picture theft by allowing people to be able to look at them via our friends list, thats why no one get's onto my friends list unless we have met

We often do user name searches and msn addy searches you can sometime find out the fakes that way

Our photos have been used on other sites aswell, but under different profiles, its one of the reason we don't have face pictures luckily most sites have removed the photos when we have proven it was us but not all have.

Another thing to remember - never have your face pics on sites such as this one - use a web cam.

It's so easy for someone to right click against your pic, then it could appear on anyone's profile anywhere.

You need to be very carefull.

Thats very true. As someone who got caught out by that before (which caused so much trouble for me at work that I ended up having to leave) through no fault of my own - my pics were stolen and used elsewhere. So no face pics on here from now on. It may limit the amount of responses I get but its a small price to pay in the longer term

If you click on pivacy on your account page theres a facility to stop search engines bringing you up.

I have clicked the do not show me on search engines but still came up on the other site we used even tho I deleted our profile there and this profile also came up for here.

It does say on the pivacy page that it can take a few weeks to disappear from search engines.

Also admin told me that other things can show up if you use other parts of the site you may still show up on search engines - I took this to mean becasue I comment on the forums I will still be able to se my posts on google or yahoo - not sure if thats what admin meant but thats how I understood it!!

What bothered me more was there is another site I had never heard of using my names (red hot & poker) to get hits on their site and when I clicked on the link with my name it took us to my profile here . . .

But I did have to put our username and town and the word swingers before anything came up so I am not too worried about people finding us (ages ago I checked the bit saying unregestered people could not see our profile) so unless I suddenly get the in laws saying pointed things I refuse to worry.

Yeah,we just ran our site name and it came up with 3 posts we made on here in early 2008.

So much for the privacy facility eh?

Good job we don't really care!

The funny thing is though,although we don't care who knows we're swingers,we are irked about people being able to read views that are meant to be privvy to site members.

Hmmm when I tried to see posts I had made yonks ago it just came up saying the link was broken so I never really thought about what it meant tbh.

Mind you to me the good thing was I asked a friend who knows we are on here to type in my username and our profile names and she couldnt see anything other than we are members here which she already knew!!

Like you Trace & Ric we arent really too fussed who knows we are here but I really dont want hubbys parents finding out cos they think he is a little innocent boy yeah right if they knew some of the things we have done or that we plan on doing they would drop down dead!!!

we used to post pics regulary on a number of well known uk based pic sites and despite putting watermarks on them they still appeared on other sites even now when we google our user names they still pop up now and again...we made the mistake of posting unblured at the time which was a huge mistake, but stealing pics has always been a problem and is a risk everyone takes when they do...we even had one couple send us our own pics trying to pass thenm off as themselves ...lmao
