Honestly thought this would have been about this song..

So, baby, pull me closer

In the back seat of your Rover

That I know you can't afford

Bite that tattoo on your shoulder...

Chain smoking is pretty difficult i woukd imagine, as unless you don't go anywhere you'd not be able to.

I also don't think anyone could afford to unless they were a lottery winner

I believe smokers have not been afflicted with Covid to the expected levels. Across populations in various counties the the smokers have not been the burden on the health system or represented in % numbers that relate to that country. Very strange.

"Sadly im on 40 a day. The only habit that eludes me"

I quite years ago shortly after my first was born. I switched to Silk cut, got Zyban prescribed at the doctors and set a date to quite. Before that date i was standing there smoking a silk cut thinking "i'm not even getting a hit from this", so i stubbed it out and from that second on thought the next fag is not my last...it's my first. Thought that ever since and although tempted my frame of mind wasn't i'm giving up, it was that i had given up.

No matter how great the temptation the next fag will always be my first, i only have to stop myself having that one. Seldom get the urge now at all but will admit if i had no wish to live i'd probably start smoking because it wouldn't matter any more.

It’s a strange fact. When the pandemic started the staff and management in all the key hospitals assessed how many people they could treat and due to the limited number of ventilators they had to create a list which would help prioritise who would get treated. As expected from health care professionals they deemed smokers to have excluded themselves from treatment. However smokers have not been the issue in determining if they should get treatment - they just have not been presenting with Covid infections.

It came to light in France.

Through out this pandemic if smokers were being infected the government would have used the information to hammer the message home that smoking is bad for your health. But it turns out that smokers are not being infected by Covid and it is because the Covid virus attaches itself to a cell in the same way nicotine does. The receptors on the cells are blocked by nicotine snd Covid cannot infect the cell.

This is what the French study said and it was very quickly silenced by the French government.

I don't know how the average person can afford to smoke at any age! They're anything from about £10 for 20 cigarettes. I know because my neighbour smokes and told me what he spends. I'm glad I don't smoke. Can't stand the smell, it makes me nauseous.

Smoking can mask many illnesses. Having worked for an NHS stop smoking service, it was alarming how many patients reported being ill well after they had quit when we did our follow up

Unless you are very rich you cannot chain smoke anymore.

Even if you only smoke 20 a day you are spending about £3,750 - 4,000 a year.

Gone are the days of people smoking 40 - 80 ciggies a day.

I am so glad I gave up smoking.
