My reasons are:

Can be uncomfortable at the beginning. Too much prep involved. Too self conscious during it. For hygiene reasons (for us anyway), play would stop for a while afterwards, so extended sessions would be paused to get clean and fresh again, sometimes spoiling the mood.

So all in all, I just found it too much hassle.

That pretty much sums it up for me too. I was pressured into it several times, it was done without any care or even lube, and it left me in pain for days each time.
