Good afternoon Wookie.

We look at winks and if there is any interest would wink back, so for us they are very useful.

Because we feel obliged to answer messages even if there is no connection, a wink is less intrusive and don’t feel rude not winking back.

I usually dont as most people say they'll ignore them.

However I've had people wink at me, I wink back and/or then usually get a message/chat going so they are actually quite useful I find

I imagine though if you're getting tens of messages and dick pics a day a wink is just another thing to have a colossal build up of so get why youd just delete.

We hardly ever respond to winks. When we do, we just return the wink and then we hear nothing. So don't bother.

Not really sure of the protocol for winks. I would expect if you return a wink the original winker would message us. Or is it, if you receive a wink, you're the one expected to message? If so, that's very lazy on the original winker.

We try to consider each wink on its own merits and if its relevant to our situation we will reply.

If the reply is then "can we see your pictures" the delete button is pressed.

G&A

Lol, we often get the "have you got face pics?" in the first message without any prior winks or other contact. Those get deleted.

Definitely.

Winks let us say hello to someone who’s caught our eye, and if they wink back we assume there might be a mutual attraction.

We use winks as an icebreaker.

We have had quite a few Meets from them. It is useful as an initial approach to gauge any reciprocal interest, and saves writing a nice message, only for it to be filed (in the bin). Thank you for Fabbing so many of our pics btw.

I always look at who sends me winks. If I find them interesting I may wink back. The ball is then in their court to message me.

Winks definitely work, it's how we met!

It shows someone is interested, giving you the opportunity to say hello back to them.

If it's you sending them, then obviously you have to wait and see if they are. The problem at the moment is nobody sane is meeting (and no, I neither need nor want a tinfoil hat discussion about the Great Reset/It's-All-Fake-News/David Icke thanks. With anybody.) so don't be surprised if you don't get a response right now.

We've been chatting to some people for a long, long time, pre-first lockdown and while we hope we get back in touch when this is done to the extent it's safe to meet strangers up close, we don't chat every day/week or month. What could we say? "Hi, we're alive, hope you're alive, hope everyone you know is alive" gets a bit stale.

So yes, winks work. But nothing 'works' at the moment if anyone has even half a brain left.

Sometimes yes. We rarely send a first message and feel more comfortable winking someone to show our interest but we are guilty of sometimes missing other people's winks. Also can't understand why people wink but when you return the wink they don't respond with a message x

Can't see what the problem is with the wink. Folk can see it's part of how fab operates so if it's really an issue why sign up to a site if you don't like how the provider set up the features.

We see it as a convenient way to indicate you like someone's profile.

If we receive a wink we'll check them out and if there is suitor we'll wink back regardless of wherher we chat or not.

Think of a wink as the equivalent to a facebook like. Maybe fab should change the icon to a like instead.

I normally send a wink rather than a message. If I get a wink back I’ll get in touch. If not then nothing lost and nothing gained. I’ve learned I’d rather send a message to someone who might be interested in me than it potentially never being read.

Exactly the same with us. So many times we've return the wink and that's the end of it. Just delete them now.

If someone winks us and they appeal we’ll message them otherwise we just delete.

If we wink and they return the wink we’ll message them.

In either case if they don’t respond within a few days - blocked. Simples.

If you have winked and got no response, it may be that you would have had exactly the same with your message. If they don't want to pursue things presently, ignoring without response is valid.

I think it's worthwhile having in your profile if you do or don't want winks. It saves losing a potential partner who may have messaged but thought they'd try a wink as a first check.
