Lonely in lockdown

Getting very lonely in lockdown now,even finding someone to chat to on here is hard work.

If you are looking for someone to chat to on here I would say try the chatrooms on a regular basis and if you put a bit of effort in to be social you will soon have people to chat to every day.

I've posted about this before.....but through the forums on here and other serious debate/discussion sites I've become aware of the massive amount of people who are lonely

It's really opened my eyes to the problem it has become.

I don't know the answer, as I'm lucky to be very content in my own company, other than to say, be kind everyone. Loneliness can be a killer

There are many people below the radar, the silent majority who aren't vulnerable in the true sense of the word, carrying on working etc, no physical difficulties but as time goes on, the home working, lack of human contact and ability to socialise is impacting. I know its getting to me big time. I live alone but generally I'm OK in my own company but it's getting too much now, I long to interact with people again, to have a friend round, all the 'normal' stuff.

Think it's natural that the longer this goes on the worse it will feel which then causes some people to break the 'rules'

Agree totally if you are feeling vulnerable please reach out loneliness is awful and if you want to chat about anything please feel free to message

personally i love lockdown, as i love solitude, but think of it as a rehersal to old age/ retirement, when nobody visits etc.

means to make an effort to gain a proactive support network. instead of waiting for people to call you, perhaps call someone else and i'm sure it would cheer you both up, or volunteer to call people, loads of organisations that would be happy for some help

I'm fortunate in that I'm part of a couple and care for my parents so I see people every day. Loneliness hard to bear.

Would it be a good idea to start a thread where people who feel lonely and who'd like some on line company could seek each other out?

I chat to loads of people both on here.. social media and via being a nhs volunteer but on here I find that people quickly want to get filthy despite me saying I am chatting to be an ear to listen not a free sex chat line

Unfortunately that’s how most are really I think for some they were desperate before but since this that has amplified.

Like for myself I’m missing the social interactions. It’s easy saying go make a bubble or search for people to talk to but using myself as an example people that suffer with anxiety would find it so much harder to form bubbles.

Sadly that's my experience too.

The isolation has really hit me hard over the last couple of days and much as I normally love my own company I am currently feeling lonely.

Doesn't mean I want to talk someone off though, so I've ended up blocking pretty much anyone from sending me messages just to get away from that assumption.
