This is an honest post coming from a genuine place. I mean no harm, just curious.

What is the fascination with gay/bi men towards straight men?

I say fascination here because out of 10 messages i receive, 8 are of gay or bi fellas lol

I find this flattering and love having chats with them, this is beyond the point.

I want to know, what makes straight men accretive to you guys. I would love to hear the reasoning behind this as the topic itself has become a curiosity of mine.

.

I think the fact that so many people lie about their sexuality on here for whatever reason, that when a gay or bi man sees straight on a mans profile that they assume ( sometimes rightly) he isn't as straight as he's making out so give it a try regardless.

This could be one reason. But more specifically, i always see it in profiles.

Straight men for discreet meets etc

It seems like there is more then trying your luck going on here

Maybes they are trying their luck, knowing it's a male dominated site and assuming a lot of straight guys don't get much success?

This is so true. We get loads of messages from straight guys. In some ways its quite annoying. Like they want to have their cake and eat it.

Also what odds. There is no harm in asking. If you don't want messages from blokes use your filters

There and to the left a bit

It *is* a known *thing* certainly in the gay community to prize "converting" a straight guy so maybe that plays into it in some instances.

In the overwhelming majority of cases though I suspect it does come down to so many guys on here either lie about their sexuality or are prepared to be fluid with it for sex, that some bi/gay guys will approach straight guys in the hope the recipient isn't as straight as he may suggest.

Personally as a bisexual man I wouldn't approach another guy with straight on their profile with a view to having sex with them, as (a) I wouldn't want to make them feel awkward if they were genuinely straight and (b) it they *were* lying about their sexuality I'd wonder what else they were hiding.

The overwhelming majority of men that contact me with a view to meeting for sex label themselves "straight" and I'd not consider meeting them for the same reasons as (b) above.

Perhaps they just think you look like you’d be turned easily

I may have spread one or two rumours

.....no......

The thrill of the chase for the most part...

That and it appeals to the deviant nature of players chasing a straight man, who doesn't like to feel naughty...

My last ten messages, six are from straight guy profiles. So whatever is written on a profile isn’t necessarily true in some cases, also as a Tgirl on here for some guys we can be the ‘next best thing’ to meeting a woman or couple.

I’d agree with previous comment about gay guys ‘converting’ straight guys, as I used to hang out in Manchester’s gay village a lot when I was younger and that was a thing, for some gay guys.

However this site can open some people’s mind to new experiences as well, so those who were straight and never consider a same sex experience, could decide to see what the fuss is about. So a few bi or gay guys may throw out a message to see if you’re interested or not.

That's actually a very good point - I know I've experienced things since joining that I never expected to, and in some instances hadn't even considered previously, so yes for some it may be a case of experimentation or new experiences they may be unsure of.

Certainly bisexuality is something that, for a lot of guys, can be a struggle to accept and come to terms with and they may well identify as straight until they have more certainty about it - so makes sense conversely that openly bi/gay guys may "test the water" with straight guys, especially when combined with everything else already said.

A simple "No thanks not for me" or even straight delete is all it takes if it holds no interest.

A bi sexual friend of mine said;

Its like having a super power. Whomever's trousers i put my hand down, I'm bound to like what i find.

This changed my views a lot at the time

I wished there were more people telling their storys and reasons. Although experimentation and trying ones luck seems plausible, i got the idea that it was some sort or part of a fantasy.

Like straight men have with lesbians for example.

Maybe i was wrong.

I wouldn't liken it to a super power personally, and it would take me liking the person, regardless of their gender, for me to like what I find beneath their clothes personally but I kind of get the analogy.

Fantasy is another possible reason - and for some being able to live out that fantasy on-line is all they need.

In summary, and responding to your OP I think, as this thread has shown, there are many possible reasons that guys approach straight guys, just as there are that guys hide their sexuality
