Because blocked people don't appear in search results.

If you do a "browse" search, you get 300 "finds". Some of those won't be to your liking, and there's sometimes nothing you can do to refine your filters. So the only thing you can do to prevent unwanted people from appearing in your search results is to block them as you find them.

If someone messaged or fabbed me (unlikely & also no pics) I'd say Thanks. For me it's just good manners, courtesy & politeness towards others sharing this site.

Understandable that some may regard a reply as an invite but all a member has to do is say 'Thanks but no thanks', if they persist then block them. Not everyone can be bothered, it's same with intro messages. Many people are just too lazy or use the same old excuse of 'too many others to answer', even though it takes seconds to send a quick reply!

If it's important to you & you don't get a thank-you reply or such, are they really the type of person you want to connect or communicate with? Probably not & you'll probably wish you hadn't fabbed their picture in the first place! Consider the profile before fabbing the next picture.

I've started doing this and to be fair it works and filters out all the women that I am not suitable for as in I'm not there cup of tea so saves a lot hassle...its also good for when you don't want to see the same people on updates that your not interested in

That’s an awful lot of supposition going on!

If someone blocks someone for their own reasons it is because it’s their choice and that’s what they decided to do, it doesn’t consequently mean that person isn’t good, decent, a hypocrite or is going to suffer any loss.

When you say thanks but no thanks to a bloke you then have to go through all the msgs of him trying to convince you of why he is worth your time -or- you get abuse back saying you are ugly and he wouldn’t want to fuck you anyway.

Very rarely do I get a “ok thanks” msg back. For every one ‘nice guy’ on here there are about 50 being absolutely rotten to the women on here.

Being blocked is nothing personal, we are just defending ourselves

Ur actions that may have caused it when 99% of the time THEY were the problem. It’s lazy and insensitive to just block after spending time engaging in texts and on here, but a simple block for looking really probably isn’t personal, x sometimes the person may think block is an easier way than explaining a reason that could hurt ur feelings? Either way let it go over ur head and carry on as u were, u definitely need thick skin for this place x

Oh what a dilemma! Like some other posts of this type, the staff meeting, discussing the same issues continuously, knowing it's not going to change, it'll always happen & is this really going to make a difference?

So many keep on about how they suffer because once they've replied with just a thank you & nothing more they then get non-stop messages!

OK 1/ You're on here for whatever reason but it's something to do with sex, so you're going to get numerous messages, winks & if you post pictures then fabbing. It's to be expected.

2/ Regardless of profile some will still try. They hope to sway you, change your mind, maybe tempt you with a picture of their cock, muscles, tattoos, beard or whatever. They're going to try!

3/ It's your choice & always will be. If you want to block them immediately then do so, it's not a crime & no-one should make you wrong for it.

4/ However some consider out of good old fashion manners & courtesy a 'Thank you' would be nice. Even if you do supposedly get so many replies!

So why not add to your thank you.... 'but sorry, seen the profile & you're not my type'.

Then if they persist block them.

Really don't know why people get so caught up in all this (yes me as well to some degree!).

I've fabbed a few pictures & sent messages that show as unread, it happens but I don't keep messaging & if I send a 2nd at a later date it's usually by mistake.

As much as I do value manners & courtesy I don't get upset by a no reply & I don't think any less of said contact.

Maybe they don't consider it as a case of manners & courtesy?

It's the way they are & their choice. Lets move on!

I mean how many times have you paid compliment on how nice someone looks such as your mother/father, daughter/son, work colleague, friend & so forth.

Maybe there's the artistic side of the picture, or the fact in certain attire someone does look nice, there's enough of them here, it's not all nudity & flesh on offer.

I've seen some great pictures, some creative ones, I've seen some sexy CD/TVs, cos-players, mistresses & lots of other lovely people on here. I don't want relations with them but I can still admire & appreciate their pictures & the effort they've made. Some of them have even made me think differently & provoked a thought or two & I do say that in a positive way.

If I fab them or send a message to say great profile or picture it doesn't mean I want to bonk em' senseless!

I think at times people do forget there's the complimentary side of things as well.

The VAST majority of men here send compliments in the hope of getting a wet cock. I've learned my lesson in the ten years I've been here never to reply to any message unless the sender is someone I want to get to know because whenever I send a thanks but no thanks, it will result in a moody, nasty, dummy spitting answer and theres no way to find out who will do that and who won't.

It’s because people use a compliment to try & fit where they don’t. For instance a daily occurrence for us is that a guy will fab every single one of our pics, I could probably put a pic up of me curling one out & they’d still Fab it!

One or two pics, yeah fine you like the pic. Fabbing all of them smacks of “Please notice & message me to say thanks for the fabs then I’m past your filters”.

On here paying compliments doesn’t go far, too many ulterior motives by many.

To some it’s also a lazy first message opener.

i answer no one unless i feel there could be a connection or an attraction or already know them otherwise its deleted or blocked ..been on fab since it started and other sites before fab and you learn quickly how to do things mass blocking works for me i rarely get an abusive message anymore or the aw come on give me a chance....

Probably my final comment on this subject! It's been entertaining.

Having read all the feed back though, it could kinda scare you off the idea of ever messaging anyone. All the preferences, what works & what doesn't, will it even get read, is it worth it? Might be more constructive using time for other stuff!

It's been a rough year health wise but well down the road to recovery now, so although it's missed a bit I'm not desperate for sex, had more than my fair share over the years & happy to wait a while longer.

I think once things get back to normal & gigs start happening again I'll probably pack the account in & go back to the old ways & let the women chat me up, in the flesh so to speak, face to face!

The block button is mearly a tool to be used as the individual wishes . Using it has no reflection on the user ,it just conveys they have absolutely no interest in the person or wasting time in pointless conversation with them and then being accused of time wasting/leading person on.

The sites clear no reply is no interest . If they don't reply and block you to stop wasting each others time what on earth wrong with that?? Just take it for what it is just a simple no . First off all and this is to the men; don’t look at sent messages

If I message someone, and get a response either within a couple of days or the same day and it’s a good to go message then I will reply . Depending on tone of reply

If I haven’t heard anything from them after say a week from first message maybe send am I am not sure if you read my message from last week etc. So may have not , some may have forgotten to reply but make it clear that you are following up and if your not interested that’s understandable. If no response then don’t email in future and use notes to say not intreasted

I find my messages have reduced by 90% since clubs have closed and that’s fine.

Back in the 'good old days' on here I'd try and spend a while writing a nice and decent message with lots of info and focusing on the profile and their likes and dislikes etc...... only to get deleted and blocked all the time.......

These days if I ever write the odd message it'll be much shorter.....Having tried the proper message approach.... The end result is still the same but I've saved loads of time that I can spend drinking beer or eating cake..... Result

There could be time elements involved as well?

I might have a couple of hours to spend on Fab, so makes it easy for me to read and reply to whatever messages I have.

**Following the typical patterns that as a single man, my volume of messages with be considerably less than for a couple or single lady.

Just because you've read through a profile and sent a complimentary message about their profile / photos sadly doesn't mean much if they don't have time to read them all.

I've seen it where I've sent a message (it's stayed unread) and they have viewed my profile.

Following that... I might be blocked or message deleted.

If you attach photos? The person receiving the message might just check them out first and if you don't appear to be what they are looking for? It's just easier for their sanity and control to block and focus on people they might be interested in.

Yes, at times it might feel slightly frustrating!!

Knowing you've constructed a complimentary message around their profile (As you've seen something in a profile that's driven a curiosity to message them). Just to see it deleted / blocked or read and no reply.

In an ideal world, it could be seen as slightly 'rude' not to reply.

But for most, Fab isn't an ideal world.

It's a male skewed site and an escapism platform from 'day-to-day' activities for a lot of people.

We are all here for our own reasons and desires/pleasures.

The simple reality is that we just accept the fact that messages are sent and deleted and sometimes you'll be blocked.

It just means that from my selected 'profile sparks curiosity tailored to person' sent messages. Whenever you do receive a reply it makes it all worthwhile.

Give yourself a brief sigh of slight disappointment, that for whatever reason? It didn't warrant a reply.

Take a new breath in and just carry on with life.

There are plenty of other amazing people on here that you can send out message complements to.

We don't know what the subject of the compliment was looking for here or how the compliment was framed.

Some may find this surprising but there are women who aren't seeking compliments from total strangers. Mine are posted so the people I might want to meet have an idea about me.

Often a compliment is a pre cursor to an expectation of dialogue with people who aren't suitable, personally I wouldn't block but some do because it avoids that awkward conversation, it's not necessarily a negative observation on the complimenter.

Seeing loads of people mentioning in one rude way or another, “move on”.

Some people, like myself are actually interested in the psychology of the situation, whether the reaction is a normal one etc.

I’ve asked loads of questions on here that some lovely people have responded to by telling me, with varying levels of literacy and swearing, to not let it bother me and move on (as they should have with my question). I’ve not let it bother me and I had moved on, just curious to see how people tick.

Just fab the picture. I think messaging someone you've got to see if you match their criteria first. If I have male filters off I instantly get loads of msgs from guys, I do not respond because they don't fit my criteria. Ladies get 500 messages a day if they didn't brutally filter them they'd never get time to respond to the ones that did interest them. Simples squeak.

So they can’t message again? There are so many messages from the same people over and over a block would stop any time wasting surely. Does the op know that it’s the first time he’s messaged? I don’t think you can tell unless you’re a supporter: if someone messages me again after I’ve said no thanks I’ll block,

Yeah that happens. Don't let it bother you mate. You'll get allsorts here. Everyone has their own way of managing their workload. And especially women who get hundreds of messages and winks in a day.

I think the very act of coming on here asking why? suggests you might not be in the right mindset for this site. You have to have thick skin and not take things to heart. If they are reading this forum post, they will be thinking 'phew! We judged it right'.

Damage limitation

If she ignores you, you could be one of these who gets the hump and messages back something spiteful

If she replies, this gives you false hope

We had the same. Even had one guy create a cpl profile to chat to me. We blocked single guys for a reason as it is not what we are looking for. But some guys will not take no for an answer. It's a shame some guys spoil it for the nice guys in here.

I was talking to someone who'd said they were interested then they blocked me.

There are a lot of weird people on here. It's just how it is.
