I've never experienced both of them but it seems swinger sex is less spontaneous, which is not a bad thing.

The parties involved in swinger sex are meeting on a common ground of knowing what each has on their mind. How it goes beyond that is up to how the parties are attracted to each other.

Would this perhaps produce a less stifled meeting in the first place?

Swinging for us is all about connection, making friends that we can have fun with. Not one offs or casual hook ups. They do nothing for us.

Agree to a point.

We do like to play with those who absolutely understand the dynamics of the swinging community though, a mutual understanding as opposed to the inatashag opportunists who rock up here looking for an easy leg over 'cos swingers are up for it'. That's the difference for us.

This may sound a little old fashioned here so feel free to disagree fully but I have always historically defined the (fairly slight) difference as casual sex being where single people are not tied to one single sexual partner whereas swinging on the other hand is where a person or persons are in a committed 'regular' sexual relationship but do also at times have sex with other people.

As I say that is a very 'blanket' and loose description and hails from a time maybe long gone where people were defined by society more by their marital status.

Of course times have changed so as the definitions have blurred so have the descriptions and applications of these terms.

But those are the origins at least which I hope may explain why the two terms exist.
