Well, brave question to ask, because you can be assured of some brutally honest answers on fab. But here’s my take on it... if I got chatting with a woman and we got on well and then later on she told me so was reliant on a wheelchair then it wouldn’t make any difference. I want sex with the whole person not just their genitals. It’s a person’s attitude that’s most appealing so being less mobile is totes irrelevant!

That's what I am hoping as well. But I don't blame anyone if the chair is off putting it is what it is a suppose it's not for everyone is it.

The only people that I wouldn't be interested in is those who take drugs.

People with disabilities still have wants and needs. It's a persons mind we find attractive not how they look are what they need to use to get around.

Never be sorry about your condition. I suffer with PTSD and yes it is a life changing thing as I am sure your position is the same.I have to see it that I am alive I just need to learn how to do things a different way than I did before. One day at a time is all you need to do. I know you will have bad days and I can help just to let you moan about something just get in touch. Good luck.

My partner wasn’t in a wheelchair when we met, but due to deteriorating health she now wheelchair bound.

She’s still got the same mind, and we still have sex, but it’s one of the reasons she’s given me a pass for on here too. We do / did have a joint profile on here too. We haven’t come across any issues for her, but to be fair she’s taken her self slightly off the market.

She does get really depressed sometimes over it, and has asked the questions like “why haven’t you just left,” and so on.

I'm a wheelchair user, OP. We've had a few seemed to be put off/disappeared once they found out, but most people seem fine and anyone we've met socially have been fine too. It doesn't affect me, as far as I'm concerned, just have to think about accessible venues to meet (in normal times obviously).

my dad was wheelchair bound, so grew up around disabled people, so no it wouldnt make a differance to me, i dont see the chair

I used to meet a guy in a wheelchair often when I met him he was sitting down so I had no idea and he did try and cover it up for a bit but its best to be honest in these situations I would again don't see a prob with it

You're still you, OP. Chair or not. A lot of people don't understand the concept of ambulant wheelchair use and assume everyone is wheelchair "bound" *shudder*.

I don't know about you, but my chair has opened up my life again - crutches are not a mode of transport

I do not see what people would not meet a person who is in a wheelchair they're bloody don't know what they are missing

after all they are human and they have got the same feelings as everybody else

what annoys me is when you see somebody in a wheelchair they do not talk to the person who is in the wheelchair

but they're rather talk to the person who's with them this can be very very rude inconsiderate

so if you are one of them people please think I was there for you and if you was in their shoes would you be upset

I am not in a wheelchair myself but I can understand them 100-percen

I was in a wheelchair for a while after I broke my knee just over 2 years ago. Even went to a swingers club while still in a wheelchair. All thanks to great people in my life who helped me loads then.

I'd say just be very honest, OP, regarding what you can and cannot do so the expectations are set right. Also, if I were you, I would state whether the condition is permanent or if your mobility could improve with time. Good luck.

Surely it is not the wheelchair that is the issue....

surely the only two aspects are whether there is an attraction, as in any potential meet scenario

and

whether the need for having the wheelchair causes any complications or difficulties in regard to having mutual enjoyment and satisfaction

If the answers are firstly yes there is an attraction and secondly, no there are no complications... then surely it is all good?

Please remember that being a wheelchair user does not necessarily mean a person has no use at all of their legs at all. Many wheelchair users (including me) are ambulant users. They can stand and perhaps walk limited distances, with or without a walking aid. Even those wheelchair users who do not have any leg function can and do have perfectly normal sex lives.
