Totally depends my waist is two dress sizes smaller than my hips ..... so Dress sizes are irrelevant they also vary significant from shop to shop.

You can also be slim and curvy and bbw and not curvy.

It’s not that simple ....... size 18 plus is deemed plus size though that’s about the only one you can pidgeon hole I guess 6-10 slim so all the rest average but curvy isn’t a size it’s a shape

I was a dress size 6-8 with a lot of muscle tone when I joined fab, so I described my body as athletic.

Now I am roughly a size 12, dabbling into 14 at times so describe myself as curvy... thankfully I still have a defined waistline!

See, I hate the BBW moniker. Anyone referring to me as such will be ignored, I'm afraid. I am fat. I wouldn't presume to use the same language to anyone else though.

I think you have to take height as well as dress size into consideration...someone who is 4'11" and a size 18 will have a vastly different figure to someone who is 5"10 and a size 18.

But at the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion on this...I describe myself as curvy as I have a classic hourglass shape, and in my opinion it's a very defined waist with larger hips, bum and boobs that fits the curvy description.

Always think exactly this ^^^ dress size has very little to how the actual size can be viewed. Especially as curvy is a shape not a size!!

WRONG. “Plus size” depending on the shop could be anything from 16 upwards. I don’t think most people would consider that BBW. And just so you know - you don’t get to say who is a BBW, that’s a label a woman has to choose for herself. I am “plus size” but I DO NOT want to be called a BBW. I can’t stand chasers and fetishers.

As someone who doesn’t fit any society norms of what women are “supposed” to look like, these kinds of questions make me feel uncomfortable…I am 6’1” tall, and describe myself as curvy. I have clothes sizes of all sorts in my wardrobe depending on where I shopped, what the style is etc. Until recently I had a total complex about my height and my figure, and I’m slowly learning to embrace just who I am, much of this is down to J (Mr) who makes me feel like a goddess. If people want to stick a label on me, then that’s up to them. Pics are there, and if people don’t find me attractive then that’s ok, too. Such is life lol

It doesn’t really work like that, some bigger women aren’t curvy because of where they carry their weight and equally some slim women are curvy. I’m a size 12 which I would say is probably average but I have a curvy shape as I have larger boobs and hips.

B. Any size where their waist is at least 12” smaller than hips (or proportionate on very petite women.

C. 18 and over. SSBBW, typically 24 and over. It’s worth remembering that a size 16 is average.

Some thoughts: most people dont' know how to measure size accurately

Shops using different block patterns for their clothes REALLY does not help (as a rule of thumb, the more posh the shop the "smaller" their fit and vice versa. So an 8 in George will equate to a 12 in John Lewis, roughly, and so on.)

size is also useless without height and build anyway

I'm size 12, that doesn't really tell you much, and I have no idea where I'd fit on the descriptors listed in first post

And my question is why does it matter? So I imagine seeing someone who attracts you and if you are lucky enough to be undressing her you see her dress size and think - NO she’s not for me
