Cycling Social Meets (socially distanced)

Has anyone every suggested or tried Social Cycle Rides as an alternative to the sicially distanced Pub/Club/Cafe meets?

It's easy to keep things Socially Distanced for the Covid regulations, and would be a great way for new people (like me) to get to meet and socialise with regular FAB users.

Added Bonus: Once Covid is finally under control it would be a great fitness oriented addition to the usual organised events.

What's your thoughts?

"What sort of riding road or mountain biking? "

That would be up to the host of the ride.

I prefer the no-traffic routes around Newcastle, but i travel to different areas of the UK as well

We would be up for this either mountain or road bike. Turning pedals is always good.

Think mountain bike might be better. More opportunity on trails to chat?

I have a Hybrid that's set up for road & light trail work, as well as a full-sus MTB.

So all types of riding is on the cards for me.

Excellent!

How have you organised it with the 'Events' Tab disabled?

I've asked the Admin to create a 'Cycling' category in the Forum.

I reckon it would be a great way for socially-distanced social meets

I’m in. Only problem though is once I put the lycra on, I turn into a supreme athlete / sex God.

Any women present wouldn’t be able to resist.

If everyone who would like to see this happen would lobby the admins for a 'Cyclists' forum category, we might be able to make it happen.

I've sent a request but haven't had an answer (Yet)

I’m always up for a ride during a ride lol.

But man those bib shorts are awkward to remove quickly lol

In terms of cycling I’m in the midlands and either road or mountain bike is good for me

This is a brilliant idea. We both cycle (she more than me) and it would be an excellent way to have a social that is necessarily sexual. Thank you
