What's the protocol on seeing people you've not spoken to on here in the real world?

I've asked in private conversations and had a few different responses, so looking for opinions

behave as if they're strangers and don't send a message saying you've seen them.

I'd a message last week saying he'd seen me in town or was sure was me.... He hadn't as I'd not been out but it creeped me out, the lack of discretion wasn't good either, no idea what he'd hoped to achieve tbh

Most people don't seem to like it so I wouldn't say anything to them on Fab and definitely not in the real world.

I've been spotted out and then messaged on here. I don't mind it if it's just a polite hello, but others seem creeped out by it. Xx

visiting the beach

Because, like most humans, I'm good at faces, but crap at knowing where from.

I've said hello to a couple of people in Tesco then only later realised where I'd recognised them from...

I wouldn't want to bother them. If they saw me and wanted to text me that would be ok with me

My opinion on it would be based on the person: if they seem like an outgoing confident person & are on their own, I'd like to think I could approach them.

If I was me in this situation, feel free to come say hi lol

I'm a very outgoing and confident person, I don't want to be approached in public by unknown people who've seen me on the net.

If someone has recognised me I appreciate discretion. A polite message accompanied by a face picture saying who they are and explaining that they'd seen me and would it be ok next time to speak is different. It gives me the choice

I quite often get messages from guys saying they have seen me in various places but I suppose that comes from having a pic with my face as a profile pic

How is that a lack of discretion if he messaged you on here ?

First off, it wasn't me.

Second I don't know him nor him me, it was a first contact from him

Third he gave no indication who he was as mentioned above he could sent a face pic if his contacting me was benign.

Also, I'd be disinclined to meet anyone who randomly contacts women here claiming he saw them, may not trouble you but it does me and says his discretion is unreliable.

I've had this and it annoyed me. It was utter nonsense, he hadn't seen me and definitely didn't work with me!

I would rather not be contacted if someone saw me. Once i got a message asking if i had been swimming at the Hilton that afternoon. I denied it but yes it was me. I was unsure if the man who messaged was an employee or just a member of the public but i never went back.

As you can see from the responses, this is a personal thing and there is no single answer.

In general, treat fab like fight club: 'The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about ...'

That said, I've acknowledged fab meets in public if they are alone. If they are with others, I wait for them to make the first move.

Yeah I agree with that, if they're in a group may be they're friends, much like most of mine, don't know about fab so wouldn't be fair to put them on the spot. But I'd like to think I could approach someone on their own, much like I probably would have before fab and try to spark a conversation. The art of real world pulling has died in the digital age lol
