Good evening , I would like to apologise for the thread I put on yesterday, I had no intention of been nasty to anyone & I don’t want to be nasty to anyone , so I apologise to those I may have upset or offended. I really would like to be right with people, been nasty doesn’t get you any where, I’m here to respect people.

Hi Micheal,

I saw the thread yesterday, I didn’t comment as others had already expressed similar sentiments to my own. However, I thought your honest and direct approach was entirely appropriate, it certainly didn’t offend me nor should it anyone else.

As in life, you’ll find some more receptive and sympathetic than others. However, I appreciate that Aspergers can affect both how you come across to people and how they and their comments are perceived by you. This is really why I and other concerned forumites wondered if this was the right place to find what you’re looking for.

Michael. I have just read through the thread. You my dear have nothing to apologise for. I have a 17 year old son who has Aspergers. I understand the trials and tribulations associated with it all and how difficult it is for you to understand emotions when communicating. Actually disgusted at how some small minded people on that thread conducted themselves. Should be totally ashamed. Especially in this day and age where mental health is such a big thing. The risk of suicide is high in people with ASD due to their difficulty in connecting with others. All you did was be open and honest with your communication in a respectful manner that was innocent in its approach. You are not responsible for how others take that. That is on them. Unfortunately in this case you encountered some right arseholes. You have been given some good advice. Keep doing you and you will find your way. Much love xxx

As others have said, you have absolutely nothing to apologise for, you were just being honest - which is more than can be said of many on here.

I have a familial experience of Aspergers so understand you. Sadly, as you will know there are many who are not educated and as a result very ignorant ... and most probably not nice people I would bother about anyway, they simply aren’t important. They show themselves for what they are.

He’s 21, independent and is an amazingly knowledgeable intelligent young man. (Clearly he has his moms genes.. ha ha) He’s just secured a job with an amazing salary for his age. But... he’s a loner not through choice. I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean... He has virtual friendships all over the world. The reality is different...
