If we say we prefer black guys, thats OK But we if we say we will only play with white guys, thats considered to be racist.

The truth is we only find western european guys physically attractive.

Its called PREFERENCE nothing sinister just preference, but why are we made to feel its wrong.

The only time I will bend my kneee is when the Queen taps me on the shoulder with a sword and adds Sir to my name.

Now lets listen to the trolls!

Why do you need to say that anyone who disagrees with you is a troll? That’s just belittling other opinions which is what you’re blaming people for doing to you

Agreed. Preference shouldn't be confused with racism. I don't like having sex with Asian guys, but I love Asia, the culture, and the people. I don't like skinny or bald white guys either. Preference. Xx

Easiest way to avoid any claims of racism is to not put it on your profile and when an unsuitable person, to you, messages you can say no thank you.

Lots of people have some very strange ideas on what is and what isn't racist. Just agree to disagree, don't worry about it and do what you want to do.

Starting threads about it is unlikely to change anything, and will likely stir up people's emotions, perhaps that's what you want?

As people have stated on this thread, it's a preference. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not racist at all. Having said that, there's a lot on TV about a month of black history programmes, so would it also be appropriate to have a month's worth of white history, Asian history programmes etc.? Just a bit of food for thought there.

There’s nothing about your preference that’s implicitly racist.

However, the fact you decided to throw in something entirely unconnected about not bending the knee speaks of the type of people who don’t think Lawrence Fox is an obvious moron, have stopped watching Britain’s Got Talent because they allow Diversity to do a dance and won’t shop in Sainsbury’s anymore because they have an open stance of not wanting racists as customers.

People will draw their own conclusions, naturally.

If people wrongly state a preference is racism, they are just that, wrong. Referring to 'trolls' could suggest reverse trolling, on top of the claim of reverse racism.

But let's get real about racism. It's a sad fact that destructive racism exists and is endemic in our culture. BAME people are subjected disproportionately to harsh and unfair treatment, that stretches from affecting their health, employment, income and other prospects.

Why inflame things? Accept that there are issues and make a statement with your actions that you find it abhorrent.

If you're a privileged person, don't seek to compare the criticism you - may - get, for preferring white men, with the life damaging prospects that black men, for example, face through life. There is no equivalence.

Select those that you want sex with as you wish. Racism may be a part of that for some people. If you're not racist, you can rest easy.

It's called a preference!!

That's the whole point of being on this site and having a profile, so you can say what you like. It's not racism at all.

What's next, anyone blocking single guys being called sexist?

Anyone not wanting to be fisted at a train station to be reported to British Rail??

I dont like sleeping with men for many different reasons, so I could be subjected to all sorts of names. It's just my preference the certain body type and look I prefer when it comes to sex. When it comes to a genuine relationship, it's not much about their looks, it is more about connection and compatibility between us as individuals. But with sex and being on fab, why can't we be picky??

I love comments like this. A friend of mine has an English text book from the 1950's that categorises all the races and their emotional characteristics! This was taught to British children.

History it is written by the dominant culture and anyone who is 50 and over will remember history being taught as the ascendancy and primacy of the white man which reflected the Victorian view of the world. Non-British cultures and cultures that were not white European and male were seen as inferior.

However academic disciplines such as women's studies have reinterpreted history and we see this emerging, as an example in history programmes. Again as an example is the spate of programmes on the medieval queens of England who are now seen in a more humane light rather than stereotypical unwomanly b@tchs who went power mad. The contribution of women at all levels in society in history is being re-examined without male prejudice and re-evaluted in a positive light.

In the same way the contribution of other cultures that are ignored is being re-evaluated and their positive contribution to British Society shown.

You mean rewriting history?

History is only one persons interpretation of events. Historians who write the history have their own prejudices and opinions and filters they write their history through. History teachers apply their own filters and prejudices, recipients apply their filters and prejudices ... Now apply new "facts" that we uncover, perhaps new context, or a new set of values which apply more filters... History is an interpretation at a point in time view of a past point in time.

Since the 1960's history is regularly reinterpreted.

It is not even a question of new facts but the removal of pre-existing biases in the historian interpreting first hand materials in regard to known events, or circumstances.

Absolutely correct, It's still racist, but you're under no obligation to explain it. Far worse to pretend "preference" is somehow a valid reason in itself, with no underlying motivation for that preference.

Right. So I'm racist by your standards then for having preferences? I wasn't aware that I have to fuck people I'm not physically attracted to just to appear non racist. That's ridiculous! I'm here for my needs not those of others all the time. If I block single men or single women does that also make me sexist? If I don't want to meet bisexual people does that make me homophobic? I could continue with many more ics and isms but can't really be bothered to.

Racism means treating a person differently due to their race it doesn’t refer to how a specific race (eg white) treats another specific race (eg black) so the term reverse racism makes absolutely zero sense

ah cute.

So as ever, the point is an overt, elective public statement saying all people of a certain colour can go away is racist. Who you find attractive, and navigating to that endpoint in an intelligent, adult way is, in itself, not.

I (Luke) totally agree sexual preference is not the same as racism. Hannah and I have differences between eachother about what appeals to us.

I just take the view that as a white person it's more sensitive for me not to make an issue of race at all. I don't overtly say I like one and not another, and if race plays a part in why I'm not attracted to somebody I wouldn't state that as a reason for turning somebody down.

I say somebody is beautiful if I find them beautiful or not for us if they are not for us and that's it. If somebody really wants to enquire further that's fine but I don't push it on them.

I'm here for my needs not those of others all the time. If I block single men or single women does that also make me sexist? If I don't want to meet bisexual people does that make me homophobic? I could continue with many more ics and isms but can't really be bothered to. "

Don’t waste your time.

A sexual preference is completely different to anything else and cannot be treated the same as say a job or having friends.

It’s not racism to have a sexual preference equally as it’s not homophobic to not want to sleep with women.

If one has a sexual preference but treats every race the same in all other walks of life then they’re obviously not racist.

ah cute.

So as ever, the point is an overt, elective public statement saying all people of a certain colour can go away is racist. Who you find attractive, and navigating to that endpoint in an intelligent, adult way is, in itself, not.

Different things, if you can't see the difference, it's on you."

Your initial reply here perhaps should have differentiated.

It just implies having a preference is racist.

Where as your now saying you were referring to blanket statements not peoples preferences.

It wasn't clear in this part:

Absolutely correct, It's still racist, but you're under no obligation to explain it. Far worse to pretend "preference" is somehow a valid reason in itself, with no underlying motivation for that preference.

Not clear at all - that's on you

"As people have stated on this thread, it's a preference. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not racist at all. Having said that, there's a lot on TV about a month of black history programmes, so would it also be appropriate to have a month's worth of white history, Asian history programmes etc.? Just a bit of food for thought there.

Main stream history in the western world is predominantly white history hence the need for a black history month

So what about Asian history month? "

"

Yes if those parts of the world have attempted to erase certain parts of white history, have washed over the history to make it seem nicer than it was and only teach a certain part of the history in school.

What country has done that with white history? Could you list them?

Thanks.

Yes I do.

Highlighting Black is no less racist or biased than highlighting any of the others, we are all equal.

I dont even know why people even have to state their preference regarding race. Just delete messages that are from profiles that are quite obvious not to your taste.

Avoids any undertone of racism that sometimes shines through in profiles.

Because it can potentially minimise the amount of messages one gets?

Just like stating your body preference can.

Just a bit of food for thought there.

"

Well in Britain’s little bubble in the 1950s I dare say that’s true.

Meanwhile in China, Russia, Brazil, Ghana etc etc they were also all teaching their own great and glorious histories.

But "highlights a history that has not been taught"

You do relise how much of history has not been taught?

Most well read historians will have covered less than 1%of it in a lifetimes work

We simply cannot teach all of history, so singling out any particular element of it excludes many others. Theres just too much to learn.

Good post though

I’m pretty sure it does.

Plenty profiles have preferences mentioned from race, to age to body size, many attractive many not. It’s subjective.

As someone with a race preference politely stated on my profile my message tally is still big, and it certainly works to minimise the amount of messages from those I’m not attracted to, although not completely I definitely saw a difference compared to when I didn’t mention it.

So it works.

Obviously we cannot teach all history, but we can give outlets for people to further their knowledge.

That was never done in school, I don’t know about anyone else but I only learnt about slavery in regards to my history in school, I didn’t learn about Black Tudors or Mary Seacole or John Black or many other very influential figures who deserve to be mentioned.

I think there should be a balance. We learn about Tudors in school but didn’t learn about the black ones, we learnt about Florence Nightingale but not Mary Seacole who came before Florence.

I'm sure people have to delete alot more messages from people just being annoying and desperate than the amount of messages they would have to delete for someone being the wrong colour.

Adding a race preference is not going to minimise the amount of messages someone get compared to an age preference. That's all I'm saying.

Don’t waste your time.

It’s not racism to have a sexual preference equally as it’s not homophobic to not want to sleep with women.

If one has a sexual preference but treats every race the same in all other walks of life then they’re obviously not racist. "

Personally speaking, I'm not any kind of -ist or -ism. If I find someone attractive then colour or sexuality has nothing to do with it. Having said that when I've rejected people politely on the grounds of age or distance, for example, they've pulled the racist card on me. That is entirely their fault for ignoring my preferences and expecting me to make exceptions just for them. These preferences are exactly the same for all races and cultures. I make no exceptions.

You don’t have to buy it, it doesn’t affect you.

I state on my profile I’m looking for “likeminded white males” so I must be racist to my own black people because I am more attracted to white men than black men, right?

Age filters do the same thing, so do body type preferences. Look how many over 50 for example complain that so many have their upper age limit set to 50, they have to read that over and over again too, and nobody objects.

This is a swinger site, within the rules people can search for what they like and have what they like on their profile. It’s not a site for the faint hearted who can’t handle rejection.

I’m not on here to appease to those I’m not interested in, if that offend some, they can block me. Problem solved.

"

Presumably then you believe that non white parts of the world should be running White history month at the same time ?

Do you think highlighting black history is a bad thing?

Yes I do.

The world has history and that history involved people of all colours, race, sex and religion.

Highlighting Black is no less racist or biased than highlighting any of the others, we are all equal.

It would be nice now if you answered my question

Mark

I’ve answered it, you’re welcome to respond.

It’s not racist to have a month that highlights history that’s not been taught, it’s not racist to have a St George’s Day of a St Patrick’s Day either.

It’s not islamophobic to celebrate Christmas or Thanksgiving.

I agree with most of this

But "highlights a history that has not been taught"

You do relise how much of history has not been taught?

Most well read historians will have covered less than 1%of it in a lifetimes work

We simply cannot teach all of history, so singling out any particular element of it excludes many others. Theres just too much to learn.

Good post though

Obviously we cannot teach all history, but we can give outlets for people to further their knowledge.

That was never done in school, I don’t know about anyone else but I only learnt about slavery in regards to my history in school, I didn’t learn about Black Tudors or Mary Seacole or John Black or many other very influential figures who deserve to be mentioned.

I think there should be a balance. We learn about Tudors in school but didn’t learn about the black ones, we learnt about Florence Nightingale but not Mary Seacole who came before Florence.

We learnt about cowboys, and the American West in secondary school.

I would have preferred British history tbh.

I was born in Africa, and we learned about African history there.

I expect in India they teach Indian history, and in China Chinese history, it doesnt seem unreasonable

But personally i have found many other areas more interesting, the Romans, Genghis, the Tzars,Hannibal, are all things I personally enjoyed learning about and they all vary in origin.

"

And that’s fine.

However British history includes some black history, so does American history and that’s why I think it should be taught to a wider range that it already does. So much importance is missed out.

In Jamaica they teach about the royals, slavery, the Tudor’s etc. So they touch on a lot of history including their own.

Here is a bog standard conservation with a daft racist.

Racist - "Sorry, I don't sleep with Asians"

Me - "I'm English, not Asian, I'm mixed race, my dad is mixed race...his dad is from Africa"

Racist - "Oh right"

Me - "so...erm...what bad experience have you had with an Asian guy?"

Racist - "I haven't slept with one before"

Me - "oh..."

If you say you won't sleep with somebody just because of the colour of their skin, personally I commend you. Honestly I do.

You're letting all the none racist people know you're a deranged racist. Which is positive for me, because I know who to avoid.

That's another problem apart from ignorant racist stereotypes.

We don't all have to agree.

The fact I think you're deranged for selecting people to play in the sheets with based on skin colour, is up to me.

I don't have to qualify my opinion, like you don't have to qualify yours.

But yes, imo, selecting people based on ethnicity, on race and pretty much only race, is racist. Ask people to explain why, and it'll unravel the at minimum xenophobic stereotypes.

It's not KKK hang a n*gger from a tree racist, but it's probably based on stereotypes, usually ignorant ones.

For instance, I had a woman who said "I don't like the way Asians smell", I mean lmao.

Honestly, some people are so dense, you honestly can't be offended by them.

Racism is to deem another race inferior or superior. To not went to have sex with people but treat them exactly the same as anyone else platonically is not racism.

Discrimination maybe, but racism it is not and never will be. This is why people don’t take notice of actual racism, because far too many bandy the word around for anything that they don’t like.

I must say I 1000% agree with this. At the end of the day preference is preference and it SHOULD ALWAYS be respected

But being devil's advocate... To rule out a whole race could be seen as extreme because whos to say that you will never meet/cross paths with someone of that race who gives you instant fanny flutters or at least draws your attention. In the mind of those trolls that have a problem with people's preference it may seem as though their looks or personality would never matter and it's simply because of there race/or colour which sounds abit mad and they may feel attacked ahaha lol.(HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING)

But still preference is preference and should always be respected

What like the black guy who raised his fist at the Olympics held by the Nazis?

Context is more important.

What is the context of kneeling and raising a fist? If you listen to the angry paranoid idiots, it's "the left coming to put communism in your coffee and make your cats gay".

But the reality is "equality" all the other tinfoil stuff is people who watch too much YouTube.

Why would I be surprised? There’s a lot of misinformed people in the world who are wrong.

Using the race card for anything and everything when it’s discrimination doesn’t surprise me, it’s literally engrained in some people to cry racism at any given chance.

Hitler hated Jews. Mosley hated Blacks. Segregation was about deeming the white race superior to black people that’s why the white spaces were always far nicer and more posh.

Many of us with preferences don’t “hate” anyone, so that’s where you’re wrong.

Secondly many of us have a preference on this site but less so on dating sites, I mean, I have black & mixed race ex boyfriends... but I’m a deranged racist right? :D

This is why calling people racist based on their sexual preference is stupid, because you don’t know why they have it and whether that preference carries over into every aspect of life.

It’s interesting you mention ignorance but don’t realise the ignorance in labelling people you haven’t met just by reading their profile. You can judge them based on it, that’s fine, but to label people you don’t know is ignorance in itself.

I’d ride Idris Elba until his dick fell off, but I’d pick Tom Hardy over Lenny Henry every-time.

Instead of labelling people based on your own perceptions and experiences it’s far better to block the profiles that don’t appeal to you.

Women aren’t homophobic for not wanting to fuck women.

Men aren’t ageist for wanting under 40s.

People aren’t sizeist for not wanting to fuck fat people.

Sexual preference is far too complicated to label people racist or any other ism.

Sexual preference is far too complicated to label people racist or any other ism."

Much of what you said can be categorised under the "I'm not racist because I have black friends" arguement.

Which is shit.

Did you know one of the heads of the KKK had a black friend? Used to fix his TV.

He was still a racist. He was also deranged.

We don't have to agree. Do you.

"The black power movement in the late 60s early 70s was an extreme movement the used bombs but that’s easily glossed over .... yes there was discrimination against them ... violence never solved a problem. "

Also, that’s not specifically true. There have been acts of violence which have led to change. Historically speaking.

If you're determine literally billions of people, most of whom you've never seen, let alone spoken to, are "unattractive" based only on race.

Yeah, you might wanna have a think about that.

Hitler had a "preference" for less Jews, Mosley had a "preference" for less blacks. Segregation was a "preference".

Be you, but don't be surprised if people say it's ignorant as fuck.

Why would I be surprised? There’s a lot of misinformed people in the world who are wrong.

Using the race card for anything and everything when it’s discrimination doesn’t surprise me, it’s literally engrained in some people to cry racism at any given chance.

"

Africa is a fairly big place with many different cultures and histories, and countries as well. I lived in Nigerian which is in Africa and learned probably more about British history and western cultures...

I think there is nothing wrong with having a preference, however this issue becomes clouded when that preference shuts off an entire race/sexuality etc. There will always be exceptions to the rule but you won't be entertaining them due to predefined "preferences".

The bending of the knee and the black power fists are ridiculous gestures, they do nothing to improve the lives of black people.

Calling anyone racist or bigoted who simply doesn’t have the same mindset as you is equally ridiculous and is very much a leftist ideology.

Racism is hatred, it’s horrible. The word should not be used for things that isn’t racism, it waters down the actual meaning and stops the eradication of it as people start to take less notice when the boy cries wolf.

That's an absurdly narrow definition of racism. To be guilty of imposing racially based biases against people is racist. That's not about hate, it's about ignorance. Plenty of perfectly nice, well intentioned people still do things that are racist, with or without realising it. Just look at examples like job recruitment. Lots and lots of racist bias, some deliberately, but probably most not. Still racist actions though.

You still seem to be ignoring the differentiation between your "preference" and the way that is handled.

I’d agree with you to some degree, but I’m not one for sentiments and more of a person that judges people by their actions and how they treat me and people around me or just anyone really...but I do think there is something to be said for the symbolism of it which I believe serves as a mark of time in history which people can look back upon if that makes sense. I wouldn’t knock anyone for raising a fist or taking a knee in solidarity...but I’m fully aware of what an empty gesture it can be as well.

As I said earlier, the point is an overt, elective public statement saying all people of a certain colour can go away is racist. Who you find attractive, and navigating to that endpoint in an intelligent, adult way is, in itself, not. It certainly *CAN* be racist, but it's not inherently the case.

I'll admit that for some reason we are unlikely to have any encounters with Indian / Pakistani couples. There is something about the way 95% of men in that bracket look that we find a turn off. I don't know why, and I think about it a lot. I presume it ultimately has to come from cultural stereotypes or something. It's not going to change, but it's still something that intrigues me, and carries a tinge of shame in my mind. But whilst there are guys like Dev Patel out there, they almost never look anything like him on Fab.

Despite all that I wouldn't dream of saying "NO ASHUNS GO AWAY" on our profile, as I still wish to treat others with respect and humanity as individuals, rather than just dropping them all in the bin because of their skin colour.

I don't think anyone's trying to gloss over anything however there was no acknowledgment in your post of what precipitated the creation of the Black Power movement in the first place..I'm afraid your statement 'violence never solved anything' is a facile mantra, after all European settlers in the Americas achieved their objectives through violence.

Groups like Black Power and BLM were/are simply a reaction to the status quo.

Excellent post

I agree we all have preferences, personally I don't believe it's wrong to have preferences relating to race, but so many become defensive when others are trying to have a grown up conversation about it!

Your post highlights the difference between expressing a racial preference sensitively whilst questioning the motives behind it and those who seem to be triumphal about expressing their racial choices!

What is the relevance of race to adults having consensual sex.

You can't fuck everyone. You pick and choose and if the other person fancies the idea of having sex with you then it's win win for both of you, if not you move on.

Spot on that is why people who oppose equality etc have to make up nonsense like "George Soros create BLM" because to accept that BLM exists as a reaction is to in a sense justify it.

So they dust the tinfoil hat off, start ranting about the left and ignore the suffering people are trying to highlight in favour of some Contrarian bullshit.

Understood but the point still stands don’t you think?

People don’t actually know *why* I say what I say on my profile and don’t think to ask before labelling me...

I believe in the freedom of speech and the right to have opinions but I think before labelling people we should always question why... because it’s not always what people think it is.

"What is the relevance of race to adults having consensual sex.

You can't fuck everyone. You pick and choose and if the other person fancies the idea of having sex with you then it's win win for both of you, if not you move on.

Life is easy people complicate things."

The 'complication' arises from both sides of the conversation.

You should get a "whites only sign" for your vagina.

Why when my vagina isn’t whites only and never has been?

It was just a joke, when you said "I'm looking for white males" specifically. Just trying to bring light to the tedious subject.

Understood but the point still stands don’t you think?

People don’t actually know *why* I say what I say on my profile and don’t think to ask before labelling me...

I believe in the freedom of speech and the right to have opinions but I think before labelling people we should always question why... because it’s not always what people think it is. "

Whose is labelling you specifically?

So what if I think you're racist because you don't want to fuck black people?

I never would go out of my way to tell you, I'd just avoid you. So you get what you want because my skin is brown.

But this thread posed questions, in a forum, where people share their opinions.

Freedom of speech isn't freedom from the consequences of speech. This is another fundamental issue people seem to misunderstand.

You can say whatever you want, but if somebody calls you out, that's the consequence of your words. Live with it.

"The struggle people have with not understanding why determining groups of people, sometimes billion of people they've never seen, let alone met, are "unattractive" based only on their skin colour.

Pretty much sums up why society is so fractured.

It's sad shit like this still needs explaining to fully grown articulate human beings lmao."

Personally I also don't understand this particular phenomenon but would defend someone's right to not meet who they choose for any reason.

An earlier poster described their racial preferences, whilst acknowledging they didn't particularly regard it as a virtue ,this starts a healthy conversation about race & sex which potentially could be far more interesting than the banner headlines!

I never said freedom of speech is freedom from the consequences, I absolutely agree with that.

Again, I believe in freedom of speech, but I also think people should challenge and question things before making assumptions. It saves the embarrassment later.

"The black power movement in the late 60s early 70s was an extreme movement the used bombs but that’s easily glossed over .... yes there was discrimination against them ... violence never solved a problem.

You try shaking the hand of the man smacking you. Are you seriously telling me with a straight face black power movement was bad? They put families through schools and fought for civil rights????? Any violence was done in response to violence that’s life, shit it’s in the bible. And also it wasn’t an extreme movement, no where near the likes of the IRA, ISIS etc "

. Did they bomb innocent people ??? Aka violence. What did it get them. 50 years on we still having comments on here. As I said. Violence can’t be condoned in any way shape or form.

I've no idea what it says on your profile, but the point is that, whatever it says on there, those people you're ruling out have no idea what your "why" is either. That's a pretty fundamental part of why it's a shitty thing to do as you're the one labelling them as unwanted.

I told you... “like minded white males.”

And the people who are out of your age range have no idea why you’re ruling them out either.

Is that a shitty thing to do also?

Regardless of what is on my profile, the opinions and thoughts of people I’m not interested in, don’t interest me... they’re entitled to their views and entitled to seek what they please on here, as am I, as are you.

Groups like Black Power and BLM were/are simply a reaction to the status quo."

So what your saying is black power is the same as BLM ???? I haven’t seen any bombs going off in the name of BLM ?????

What do you think it took, for women to get the vote?

While I think you're right, you're being a little naive. Violence is usually required when people want to take power from those who will not give it.

A lot of the violence we see today isn't so much based on race, as much as it is class. I think economic inequality causes people to burn their own homes to the ground.

But anyway, yeah, violence is needed sometimes, that is why the French have democracy today.

"Groups like Black Power and BLM were/are simply a reaction to the status quo.

Spot on that is why people who oppose equality etc have to make up nonsense like "George Soros create BLM" because to accept that BLM exists as a reaction is to in a sense justify it.

So they dust the tinfoil hat off, start ranting about the left and ignore the suffering people are trying to highlight in favour of some Contrarian bullshit."

Bit of a blanket statement. I don't oppose equality, but I oppose the BLM organisation. I'm fine with the sentiment, but the blm org manifesto has little to do with black lives. The blm riots in America seemed to have achieved very little other than damaging lots of property and businesses (predominantly in black areas!!)

Rioting is never good imo

So let's get this straight, if you shout white power on the street to support your homies your a wacist nazi but if you shout black power on the street to support your brother's your a wakanda God .

Here's a better idea, nobody's your brother just because you share a skin tone, in fact it's entirely possible to be actually brothers and not share a skin tone.

Now all together repeat after me.. We're all individuals

In fairness the BLM 'manifesto' widely circulated last month was exposed by Snopes as a fake document, created to discredit the movement.

I think it's a subject that deserves a 2nd thought TBF. There have been some very good arguments put forward about the BLM rioting that really made me wonder.

So what about the one on their Twitter page and web page that I saw with my own eyes that stated they wanted to defund the police, and disrupt the western prescribed nuclear family?
